The coverage map shows that Stevenson Ranch, CA (91381) has good coverage, but that is anything but accurate. How can our community determine where our nearest cell tower is, and if not nearby, request consideration for a tower in our community?
I agree. The service in this area is HORRIBLE! It drops my calls the minute I leave my home wifi. I was told that the area is very congested but that can't be the case. Please help!!
I have to sit in my master bedroom closet to get receiption that wont drop. PLEASE change it back to the way it was...or I may have to end this 25 year marriage with Verizon...
We have been with Verizon for almost 15 years and the coverage in Stevenson Ranch is horrible. It has gotten to the point that we are thinking about switching to AT&T. We went to the Verizon store and they updated our sim cards but unfortunately now the service is even worse. I would hate to leave Verizon but the cell service has become too unreliable.
AT&T is finalizing installation of a high speed cellular and data site at Hemingway and Faulkner (near the townhomes). I stopped by and asked the workers today and they provided that info. Also, there is another site on Poe Parkway I believe that they also just installed. May have to switch to AT&T if Verizon doesn't do something to help in this area. I can only imagine how bad it would be if we had a big brush fire or something up here and we were trying to use our phones, and nobody had coverage. Also, most of EMS/Fire/Public Safety uses Verizon data for their ambulance/fire/sheriff mobile data computers, so that would be troublesome too!
GREJEL79, your network experience is very important to us, so we are here to work toward a resolution. Placement of towers can be a lengthy legal process to secure land and permits, but here is a web page http://spr.ly/6584DZkE0 to get you started. Can you elaborate further on your exact experience when using the phone in this area? About when did these problems start? Do the problems happen both indoors and outdoors? Is there a certain time of day the problems arise?

My entire community, for many years, has been a Verizon (nearly) dead
space. Maybe we get 1 bar, and have to use the home wi-fi calling feature
to make calls. Pretty much all of Stevenson Ranch west of The Old Road is
hit and miss, mostly miss. At my daughter's school, Stevenson Ranch
Elementary School, there is no cell phone coverage. At my house on Moore
Lane, coverage is (maybe) 1 bar. This has been a multi-year issue, and my
neighbors and I have spoken about this to each other, all disappointed in
the Verizon Coverage. The issues are out in the open (At Rioux Park, and
the elementary school), as well as when out in the community. The coverage
is certainly NOT what is advertised on the Verizon Wireless Coverage Map.
We would appreciate some sort of assistance with this matter. We are all
pretty much at our wits end, and with AT&T putting up 2-3 new high speed
cell sites (At Hemingway/Faulkner and along Poe Parkway) in Stevenson
Ranch, we really don't want to switch providers, we just want some bars of
coverage and to be able to use our phones in our community.
It would be very simple to bring a representative to our community and
drive around with a cell phone and see for yourselves.

KEVROS38,
We appreciate that you've chosen Verizon over the last 15 years, and we don't want to see you leave Verizon. Let's figure this out, and turn things around. When did you begin having trouble with your service? Can you tell us more about the issues you have been having?

We have had problems for many, many years (at least 7 years). We formerly
lived at [removed], and had horrible service, having to use home
phone for phone calls. At our daughters school (she is in 5th grade)
(Stevenson Ranch Elementary), there has never been more than one bar of
coverage, and usually no bars. We moved to [removed]2 years ago,
and have had, at best (confirmed right now) at one bar, but I have wi-fi
calling turned on, so I can actually use it.
The problem is a multi-year problem. There is no known Verizon cell tower
in Stevenson Ranch, 91381, and I am not sure where the closest is. I just
know that this upper middle class community cannot use Verizon despite
having the service. I love Verizon EVERYWHERE other than at home or in my
community, but have nothing but disdain here. If there were an emergency in
our community, we would all be out of luck because our Verizon coverage is
nearly non-existent. The problem has been going on with my Verizon iPhone
4, 5,6, and 7, as well as my wife's Verizon iPhones and our friends and
neighbors.

Hi Michele,
The poor coverage started about 9 months ago and I stopped having a signal inside my home. We live at the top of the hill in Stevenson Ranch and had always had great service until now.
I just simply have no bars in most of my home and the best reception is in the closet...not ideal.

I can understand how that wouldn't be ideal, NICYOU93, and I also see the frustration around this as well. 9 months is quite a long time, and I'm more than glad to help, so we can get to the bottom of this. I know you said you barely have any bars, but, on a typical day, what does your phone display in terms of a signal(4G/LTE, 3G, 1X)? Is this mostly indoors as you said "inside my home", or, is this just as bad outside? Do you know how far you have to travel before you grab good signal strength?

This was the response I received from Verizon. For those with the same problem, please message Verizon to show them that it is not just my home near Rioux Park that is the issue, it is the entire Stevenson Ranch Community.
We appreciate your providing that information that you provided. Thank you for all your patience in investigating this issue together. We always want to find the best solutions in any situation. After investigating the area, we were able to determine that the specific home area address you have provided is a Variable Coverage area. What this means is that although we strive to provide service everywhere, there are certain factors that are beyond our control which can impact your service. These include weather, terrain, foliage, population changes, interference, building structure and materials. Surrounding foliage and device location while in use can also be the cause of poor service coverage. The locations of the towers themselves can also impact the service. Variable coverage can cause drastic fluctuations in service between times/days like the ones you have been experiencing.
Another factor is indoor coverage. While we always want perfect service for all our customers, unfortunately we cannot guarantee indoor coverage due to obstacles and signal penetration variables into the structure. Indoors coverage will vary depending on building materials (brick, metal, tinted glass, which all reduce signal penetration).
Our engineers do regularly evaluate network coverage to identify locations that may require additional coverage. We are always working on expanding/improving our network.
While this situation is obviously not an ideal one there are some options to try to improve your service on your phone while at your home area location until the network in the area is expanded/improved.
The first is HD calling if you haven’t attempted this yet. This is a good option when you are away from home. Here is more information:
https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/hd-voice-for-ios-faqs/
The second option would be WiFi calling. This can only be used in areas with a WiFi internet connection. Here is more information:
https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/wifi-calling-faqs/
The third options would be to purchase a network extender. This does require a home WiFi connection to operate. Here is more information:

Hello there. I was wondering if there have been any further developments on this. We are currently in the process of buying a house in Stevenson Ranch and every time I went ot the house I experienced conectivity issues described in this thread. The others who had AT&T did not have any issues. I see that this thread is about a year old but was wondering if folks have given up or if there is something in the works. I'll definitely have to switch providers if Verizon's answer is to pay more for a network extender. Thanks!
We want you to have the coverage you need AlinaB. Congratulations on your new home. We know how vital communication is. There have been some improvements in the area, but we would need specifics to dig deeper. The best measurement is using the device at the location. This why we provide a 14-day trial period for new service. It allows customers to use the service in locations that matter most to them. Indoor coverage can always be a challenge for cellular service. This is based on how the technology works. Wi-Fi calling is always great in these situations. BobbyN_VZW
