I'm in the process of moving into our new home - located in a woods, and the home has a metal roof. Our reception on our Android phones is very poor. Is there a booster, or some piece of equipment we can purchase to improve our service?
Is the signal better or the same outside the structure compared to inside the building?
We understand the need to stay connected, even way out in the woods. I apprecrciate the question as there are definitely options to increase cell service and connectivity. A booster as what you're asking about does exist, but requires a broadband connectioned to function. Have you already tested WiFi calling in your new area? https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/wifi-calling-faqs/

Yes, if we go outside and walk around we can usually get service... But
not always. Strange thing is, my daughter in law has AT&T and she has
good service inside the house. What do you recommend for us? Please
get back with me ASAP.
Thank you so much.

Ann154's response is good. If you have a poor signal outside the house, it's not likely you'll get a really good one inside the house.
I believe there are a class of amplifiers or "signal boosters" that can take the signals from a range of frequencies, from an antenna aimed at a provider's tower, and re-broadcast them inside a house: The quality of that re-broadcast signal will be a function of the quality (and cost) of the booster, and how strong the signal is outside of the house, at the location you mount the product's outside antenna.
Go onto Amazon and search for
weBoost Booster
SureCall Fusion5S Booster
Go on the web and search for Wilson Booster
You'd have to do some research, maybe contacting the tech support of the individual companies.
Good luck.
You need a broadband internet service to use a signal booster inside your home. If you don't have this type of service the signal booster is useless. If you DO have this type of service, you are better off using the WiFi for your data needs and enable WiFi calling on your devices. This will eliminate the need for the extra piece of equipment.
You need a broadband internet service for a NETWORK EXTENDER. A signal booster like from Wilson doesn't need a internet connection. It takes an existing signal like from outside the structure and amplifies it and rebroadcast it in the designated area for example inside the building.
You learn something new every day.
Some people use the terms interchangeably.
I am sure we will find a solution for you K53. Stef7 did offer a good recommendation. A signal booster will be your best bet. Since your services are working fine outside of your home, then a Network Extender will help inside your home. There are some requirements that do have to be met. Do you have a DSL/Cable services for internet?

To clarify again, the OP DOES NOT have to have internet to use an Amplifier / Booster.
If however, they wish to go the Network Extender route, you are correct, they'll need internet access.
