Issues after April 2017 update

Issue with screen going black, unable to turn on at times, and unwilling factory reset after a few hours of the most recent update. What in the world happened to my phone? My phone was functioning properly until the update. Ran a health check before the screen went black and nothing came up wrong with performance. Why?
