According to the tests by our local paper Verizon is getting worse and very erratic with its coverage.
Big difference in cellular data services among carriers in downtown Santa Fe | Local News | santafenewmexican.com
The service used to be excellent. Our contract is up so I am shopping for other carriers. This whole change seems conveniently timed with changes in the FCC. I am going to write my senators and representative to see what is happening in FCC and why regulations seemingly are being ignored.
Update to this post,
The City of Santa Fe just cancelled its contract with Verizon due to very poor service.
SF finance committee delays action on Verizon fleet contract | Albuquerque Journal
The official Verizon store in Santa Fe NM basically admitted to me that Verizon doesn’t consider this an important market... even though we're the capital of New Mexico, we're too small a town. I’ve been calling and complaining since April 2017. I called a couple of days ago and the Verizon tech said the local tech (there’s only one??) was sent out and he reported that there’s no problem.... unbelievable. Since they think almost NO service is not a problem, I’m switching my family to t-mobile this weekend. Verizon has become a truly horrible company.
I'm a computer consultant and I get frequent calls from clients thinking their iPhones are broken, but it’s alwsys the lack of Verizon LTE. I’m starting to switch my clients to t-mobile as well.
Hello
go to this web site and file a complaint:

I received a very prompt reply and a call from Verizon. We shall see if anything changes. The more folks who file complaints the more serious Verizon will be about the issues. I would be very interested to hear how your switch to TMobile goes. My daughter has it and it works well in ABQ but has some issues in Santa Fe as well, mostly Eldorado.
Thanks - I just filed the FCC complaint. I live in Eldorado, so that could be frustrating. Basically there’s no great option for cell service in Santa Fe.
