LG G5 stopped downloading from PC

I recently replaced the hard drive on my laptop and now I cannot download any music.  The phone is recognized as VS987 as before but displays as empty when I click on it.  Also when I try to copy a file to it I get an error that says

MediaMonkey does not even recognize it.  Any suggestions?

DAVHAR38, we want to make sure you are able to download music from your PC to your phone. Let's look into this issue further. When you plug your phone into the computer, do you get a notification that your device is connected as a media device? You can view this in your Notification Bar by swiping the top of the screen down.
