I am frequently in Alaska where the only provider in the area is GCI. Is there any deal between Verizon and GCI or do I need to get a local GCI phone?
You should be able to roam off their towers. Verizon Wireless might have a 4G LTE network in the area, but the CDMA voice network will still be over the local regional carrier in Alaska.
