Unlimited plan get throttle down, to 3g but not really the 3g speed is only 600kbps. Not like the old 3g. I got throttle down to 0.01 I basically have no servicelll. Warning to you all.
Grannin, I know how important it is to get great speeds and service. We value your loyalty, and we certainly don't want to see you go. If you are on the Verizon unlimited plan and have used more than 22GB of data on your smartphone, you may experience some temporary slowness at times. You can see more information about how this works here: http://spr.ly/658685xbu
If you are using a mobile hotspot, you will be reduced to 3G speeds for the hotspot device only after 10GB are used on your plan. Our link to the Unlimited Plan FAQ includes information on this as well. If you have not exceeded 22GB, or 10GB for hotspot, and your service is still slow, that is definitely not normal. Please let us know if this is the case, and we can look into your situation more closely.

If you have used your 22GB through your device you get de-prioritized to 128KBPS. You only get slowed down to 3G speeds when you use 10GB of hotspot data. The 3G speeds will be ONLY for hotspot usage.

De-prioritization does not specify any kind of data speed, only that other users would be prioritized above you. Once you reach the front of the queue, your speeds should still be at 4G speeds, except hotspot which would be limited to 3G speeds if it had exceeded 10 GB of usage.
The 128 kbps you are thinking of is Safety Mode if you are on a limited data tier on the Verizon Plan.
I have now found out the hard way that the unlimited plan is not a great replacement for wired cable or Telco internet access. I was having trouble with getting the local Windstream DSL installed. In looking for alternatives I went through the Verizon data calculator and figured that I'd only use about 4G/month. To to be safe I opted for the unlimited plan. That seemed like a good idea until I had a virus on my laptop. The virus used my entire 10G overnight and only two days into my billing cycle. I too am throttled to the point of almost no service. It's only May 2nd and I effectively have no service until the 28th of the month.
If your phone is on the unlimited plan you have another 10GB by using the personal hotspot feature on the phone.
I agree. Its slower than dial up. I have been trying to view MY VERIZON plan online and all details and its taking me 30 minutes. Its the worst deal Verizon made to all of us customers. Looking into AT&T plans today which offer 1 TB for $40.
That sounds like a landline internet service. If you have any options for landline based Internet service, you should not be using or considering cellular wireless Internet service options.
If you read my post, I mentioned that Windstream, the local land land provider was having trouble getting service to us. I had asked the rep when I ordered this and he indicated that the 3G was really okay and only slightly slower than the 4G... Which it is not. As far as I'm concerned, this is totally misrepresented by the Verizon sales staff.

I guess I am confused on why there is a limit at all. Does using the 4G network over 10GB with a mifi hotspot create more of a backlog or system issue for Verizon? If Verizon is the biggest and best, as they advertise, then allow 4G all the time. The system can obviously handle the load at the beginning of every billing cycle.

And you would know this how???? Not everyone with unlimited data will use their entire 10 GB of hotspot data within the first couple of days of a billing cycle. Some probably don't even use the entire 10 GB of hotspot data during the entire billing cycle. I know I average LESS than a GB of hotspot data/month and if I were to switch to unlimited data from my current 15 GB data allowance across 5 lines, I can't imagine that would change. Just because someone switches to unlimited data does not mean they will try to find out how much data they will use in the shortest period of time.
I use 0GB of hotspot data every month.
I hate this unlimited plan. The other plans were unlimited with Safety Mode enabled. Sure you got seriously slower speeds but no overage charges. At least with those plans you could pay for more data to use. With the unlmimited plan you can't.
Why does everyone think that we should have unlimited mobile data anyway? It's already bad enough that people are texting while driving and walking down the street while not paying attention to the world around them. Now they should be able to binge watch 13 Reason Why while they're driving?
I do a lot of data stuff on my phone but I am mostly connected to wifi. If I am not connected to wifi, I am driving or being social with other people. I don't have time to consume 22GB of data. What are people doing that they need so much?
You don't know what your talking about!
Get Outlook for Android<https://aka.ms/ghei36>
It is like Verizon sold us a car then came and took the tires after we used it for 10 miles (ie:10gb of data used). I am now only getting 0.19 to 0.35mb download speeds, and .026 to 0.43mb upload speeds. Nowhere on their website even in the Unlimited Data FAQ's under the Support tab do they state that you will get speeds throttled back to slower than dial up internet. I even have trouble opening pages on verizonwireless.com.
What is sad is that the network engineers don't even call back when they are assigned a trouble ticket, I had to hear back from customer service basically telling me that my Home Fusion is on the 3g network and that is the speeds I will get, funny thing is that the Home Fusion system is not compatible with 3g networks, and I quote verizionwireless.com from their 4G LTE Internet Installed page "* LTE Internet (installed) is data-only 4G LTE Service, and cannot be used on the 3G Network.",
Verizon has knowingly throttled me and others back to unusable speeds. See the pic below.
Sad that Verizon would dishonestly deceive customers like this!!
I have been unable to open internet since yesterday. My email is super
slow. I lost my job a year ago and work online from home. Can't work
because no internet. Verizon deceived all of us into believing this
Unlimited Data was the best. They now get more money out of me each month
and I get Zero service.
BPL506, I want to make sure we are doing everything we possibly can to get your data back up to speed. I have sent you a private message to make sure we can go into more detail about this issue.

I use Verizon since 2008. I find it reliable. I travel and live in mostly forested areas. I get coverage most of the time. I don’t think I’ve stayed with a company longer than I’ve been with Verizon. Having said that, I’d like to share my experience with data allowance. I got above unlimited with 75 gb and 20 for hotspot. I used data for watching movies. There’s no landline WiFi where I’m at. By the 22nd of billing cycle, I’m usually out of data allowance. It went like this until I got tired of just staring at the walls for the remaining 8 days. So I opened a second account. Not another line but an altogether separate account. Now, I got a combined data allowance of 150 gb. This time, with get more unlimited, the hotspot is 30 go. Funny, I always track my usage almost everyday. I spend usually between 2 to 5 gigs every day, Though my bill has doubled, I noticed that my data usage has dropped. Yet my habits have not changed. If it all, I’ve been watching even more movies! Ha ha. Seems like Verizon has stopped counting my data use. Anyways folks. That’s my story, I know Verizon got a lot from my paycheck. But I am not planning on getting landline WiFi or switching to at&t, tmoblie. But I agree with all of you. Getting throttled, I felt like I was disconnected.
Why would you open second account and just not add a line, have 2 lines with Get More, each with 75gb premium LTE and each with 30 gb hotspot? Much cheaper and gets you the same thing.
