Add a Line?

I am a Verizon customer. My daughter and I are on my plan now and we have had the Iphone 6 for 4 years. I saw on the web site if I purchase a iphoneX I will get an 8 for free but I started reading the fine print and it says "if I add a line" am I reading that correctly? I would have to add a third line to my plan to get the deal?

Yes. If the terms say a new line of service is required, then you have to add a new line to the account to qualify for that promotion.
