Why does Verizon punish loyalty??

I have been a loyal customer for 10+ years. I am grandfathered in and I do not want to, nor do I believe I should have to give up/lose this because I want to switch to a cheaper plan option.

I am stuck in an old family plan, paying $360+ per month. I have talked to several representatives about moving me and my wife to individual plans while keeping my grandfathered data and every time they tell me "it can't be done" (in order to do so, I am required to forfeit the grandfathered unlimited data - unbelievable!).

Why does Verizon punish loyalty??

If I am forced to get less; in order to acquired fair pricing, then why stay with Verizon?? What is the incentive to stay??

I've been biting the bullet for so long; hoping Verizon would step and possibly reward/make it right with their loyal customers but I guess not.

I'm NOT happy!

Maybe it's time to move on and find a new provider, I am just pouring my hard earned money into ungrateful pockets.

Verizon does not punish loyalty and I don't think that word means what you think it means.

You can switch to NEW plans at any time. Your old plan doesn't exist anymore so no you can't get it. You're lucky to still even have the option to keep grandfathered unlimited at all. Why not switch to the newer unlimited plans?

If you switch just be warned you will NOT find a provider with the same plan as you currently have.

To be fair, they HAVE rewarded loyalty by allowing you to keep a service that is no longer offered....

It also sounds like they aren't trying to take this away from you, so if I am understanding correctly-- you are upset because they won't let you keep a grandfathered plan AND pay a lower price?!?!

New plans that don't include this old unlimited data feature are priced lower and so the simple fact is you have to choose whether you want new plans and pricing OR old plans and pricing.

I'm also confused by the "ungrateful" comment. Verizon is a business that provides a service when you pay for that service. If you feel you are not getting the services you should for the amount that you are paying, either adjust what you are receiving, what you are paying, or go somewhere that has services you do want for the price that you are willing to pay.

You're not grandfathered into anything, the account is. When you leave an account, you willingly give up any perks you had from that account.

You currently are part of an account with unlimited data that doesn't have the ridiculous 22GB priority limit, but instead 200GB before VZW starts questioning your use.

No one has access to that plan anymore and you're over here complaining about it. Either stay with what you have or go with a plan the rest of us have to choose from. Other carriers also have bad priority throttling. You could switch for that or you could stop complaining about loyalty when you have unlimited no one has access to anymore.

Actually, just get a sub account and stop complaining.

I was on the grandfather plan until I decided to get a cellular iPad added to my account. I knew that I would loose my old unlimited plan. I have never gone over 22GB on my phone or tablet and it worked out great for me. I feel I made a good choice for my needs.

A gallon of milk costs more than a quart. I got a new Mustang with a V8 which cost more than a six cylinder. And I've been a Verizon customer since 1993. But regardless, I couldn't expect them to let me keep my old unlimited plan and pay a lower price for it. I don't mean to be ignorant but that's not logical.

The question is more or less rhetorical, I'd like a response from Verizon and that is why I ignored the first 3 [removed]. I know how this works.

This is not about paying less for my data, it's about paying more for the others on my plan.

Data was $30 for unlimited then it jumped to $50. I understand that prices are subject to change, that is not my problem. The issue I have is, I am stuck in a family plan and I want an individual plan.

I never received any type of correspondence, regarding the changes to existing plans - giving me the opportunity to move from a family plan to an individual plan.

This is customer to customer forum. And thanks for the insults towards other customers on this customer to customer forum. If you didn't want input from other customers then you shouldn't be on a customer to customer forum. You should be calling customer service or *611

Verizon raised the price to motivate people to get off the grandfathered unlimited plan. So why would they want you to keep the plan on a single line? Verizon does offer unlimited plans for single lines. Go Unlimited and Beyond Unlimited. Those are your choices.

Budget is a huge factor in my household as well, so I can understand your concern for a costly bill. I am here to explore any options to get your monthly charges lowered. Based on what you have described, we have you on a plan that is no longer available to our new customers. We also will not force you off this plan so appreciating your loyalty with us is allowing you to remain on a plan that is no longer available. Our pricing has changed tremendously since the original plan was offered so we do understand that the newer pricing might be a cheaper plan and want our customers to get the best rate available. In this case, however, it would require a change to the new plan which does not include the grandfathered unlimited plan. You can remain on your plan provided there are not any changes. We want to help make sure you have a bill that you are comfortable with going forward.

I’m paying $229 for two devices & I ranked up a total of 400 GB on a single device. Yea, you heard that right & I still have 7 days left on my cycle. One day I wished to exceed over 600 GB on a single device & I’m sure that I will accomplish this wish in the next few days hahahahaha. I had sprint before & its so terrible. Yeah I might be over paying, but you know what? I’m over using it so it benefits me a whole lot. You pay for the service plan you get. I’m happy asf.
