BluevanDad, we always want you to have the best possible coverage. What specifically happens with your calls, texts, and data? Where is this happening (street intersections, city, and state)? When did this first start?
SeanC_VZW
I live in 65747 and coverage has went from exellent to very poor in the last year. I have a tower less than a half a mile away and barely register a signal on my phone. drop calls alot. jumps from 4g to 3g to 1x.
Not sure what is going on but it seems that 4G should be working better before spending time and money of 5G.
When did you first start having this issue? What troubleshooting steps have you attempted since this started?
FranciscoP_VZW
I live in 28110 area and i am having the same problem. I've noticed a drastic change over the last couple of weeks. I disconnected my landline because i get such a good signal at home and now i can barely make a call. Multiple calls have been dropped and text message bounce back. Is there something going on in my area...upgrades to towers? Something? I've always had fantastic service but now i can barely use my phone.
We also have the same problem, it seems that Verizon does not care about keeping the service coverage up to date, instead they just want to blame our devices and up sell everyone on the next new thing. Why should we upgrade to 5g when you never finished building and upgrading the 4g network, what will happen to the 5g network in 5 years, it will be garbage too. VERIZON YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO US CUSTOMERS. Everytime I call to let them know about poor service they do nothing to help me, nor do they even care that I am having problems. We live in Las Vegas, and when you go to the Strip it's the worst. Verizon refuses to put in enough towers to handle the demand of all those phones in the area. I have also noticed it in my neighborhood as well, Henderson, NV 89015. It's too bad that Tmobile, ATT, and Sprint are even worse, without true competition Verizon doesn't have any insentive to do the right thing and fix their network for their customers. We should get what we are paying for.
sj71004,
Being able to have service you can rely on is fundamental, and as someone who also lives in a very populated area, I can understand the importance of ensuring the coverage is appropriate to accommodate the density of people. We always want to have your back, and we are here to make sure the signal is all it needs to be for you and those around you. The last thing we want is for you to look at options with other carriers. Also, thank you for providing your city and zip code; your area looks great for coverage so let’s get your signal back on track.
What specific issues are you having with your service (calls, data, etc.) and what is happening when you are using these services? What signal and bars are you getting? Are your concerns happening indoors or outdoors?

I am having the same issue. I work from home and starting right around 9:30ish am PT I lost coverage and data transmission from my personal phone. I tried several times to send text messages with nothing happening other then them showing they were sending. After a couple mins I tried calling the TFN (0204) to talk to somebody so I could report the issue. It took a couple a times to get a call out as the call would never connect eventually timing out and giving me error tones and the phone display would show a message that I was not in my home calling area. Ummm, yeah, yeah I am as a matter of fact I couldnt be anymore in my home area as I was standing in my home. Eventually I got a call thru the IVR and off to sit in a queue to wait on a rep. As usual there was the standard message about holdtimes are higher than normal blah blah blah...yeah cuz you keep laying off your employees to help finanace your stupid media ventures that fail one after another. Anyway back to the issue at hand. So just after being told my call would be recorded for quality assurance purposes the call disconnected. Yup. so that was a little rude. So I called again. and again and again and well i tried another half dozen times with not one bit fo success ever getting to a live person so they could tell me they dont see any issues in my area and im due for an upgrade and they have something cruddy on sale right now....blah blah blah. So over 12 hours later and still have the issue. I forgot to mention my work phone is VZW as well and its an iPhone my personal is Andriod and BOTH ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE! Not able to make outbound calls. Text msgs start failing in both directions. I go from 4 bars down to zero to no services to out of service to 2 bars and all over the place. After about 15-20 mins both phones "blow up" receiving txts alerts, vmail alerts (for the calls I missed), 50 back to back push notificiations etc....my phone is having a nervous break down from the constant back and forth of no service to "here's two hours of alerts, notifications, emails, texts, reminders..AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH" OK maybe the phone can handle it but I don't want to. I PAY YOU TOO MUCH MONEY EVERY MONTH VERIZON. So much, it feels like my phone should be living like a Kardashian or going to USC or Yale to join a sports program it's never played a day of in it's life.
And to answer the questions coming I have restarted the phone serveral times. I even went as far as to remove the sd-card and SIM card from my Andriod and rebooted again all to have it power back up and start failing again. Without giving any personal infomation I can tell you the zip is 92672 and the tower is right next to the 5 freeway very close to the high school. I am pretty sure you should be able to determine which tower I am accessing based on that so if you could have someone take a look at all the channels on that tower that belong to you guys and see if something is possible off or alarming or maybe if a homeless person has made themselves ..."well at home in or around your tower location" it would be extremely appreciated.
I just switched from AT&T last week and I am alreadt regrettting it. I get no data service at my work location. Either inside or out of the building. At leasdt with AT&T i had great internet connectivity. When you look at the coverage map of course it is all red so I should have great coverage. But no!. My signal driops about a 1/8 of mile from my office and picks up about half a block down the road when I leave. Absoultey dissapointing that here are three visible cell phone towers close but I guess the belong to the other companies. address and zip here is [removed].

I live in Hempstead TX 77445 and we have had a bad storm roll thru early this morning. I work on towers for T-MOBILE and know how it works. The tower close to my house is down and my service is terrible. I have 3 children and my wife at home with no service to call, text or Internet usage. Couldn't even call customer service. My question is when is the tower crew or technician going to troubleshoot this issue? I'll come change the RRU if necessary.
Please respond asap.

Pireland777,
We never want to see anyone going without service, especially when needing to remain connected to your family at home. I want to do all I can to get to the bottom of this.
I am looking into the local area for information about any potential service interruptions. In the meantime, what indication have you received that the tower is down? What is the current signal status of your devices?
ColinH_VZW
No service here either! Cell phone is only phone most people use. My 80 year old mother needs to be able to have this in case of emergency!
How can I call 611 when there is not service!!!!!! What a stupid thing to tell people
Rhiannon1060, we never want you to be without service. We are here to help.
What city and state are you located at? What model phone do you have?

We live in El Centro 92243, and the service here used to be fantastic. It's so bad now that I don't even use my verizon phone number anymore. I have to use a voip app to make and receive calls from my house. Outside my neighborhood it works perfect. I've called and chatted with customer support on several occasions and nothing ever happens. It's terrible that it takes so long to let someone know that the service is terrible for a whole neighborhood.
3G 4G LTE...whatever. When not connected to internet I never know which my phone is using. LTE, when I got my phone....was told this was a fast connection. It's unreliable. I could not do anything on my phone, except making a phone call.....Now I'm confused....which one is supposed to be current? And now I see something about 5G....we have to sacrifice what we have because Verizon has something new?
What does the status read on your device (3G, 4G, LTE)?
CheyenneS_VZW
I did this and the tech was absolutely useless after spending 30 minutes on the phone. Basically said that it should work and didn’t know why. I moved to a new office in the middle of Metro Phoenix and I am getting unusable data speeds even with 3/4 bars. Had no issues at my old office or at home. I don’t know why Verizon doesn’t have the ability to report issues online or via an app like ATT. I’ll have no option but to switch carriers if this does not improve, which is fine because I pay more for Verizon with the expectation of good service
I live in 85282 I now get 1 bar and people say that I am breaking up, I used to have great service but not anymore
We are sorry to read that you are having trouble with your calls as of late. Upon further review, Verizon is currently experiencing a wireless network issue in your area. Our technicians are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it quickly. We appreciate your patience.
RogerZ_VZW
It is still poor only getting 1 bar still
I can only get signal in 2 places at my home it's very aggravating not only that but it drops signal alot I have to turn the airplane mode on and off to reboot the signal it easier then restarting my phone 100 times a day. IDK what else to do I've tried everything. I've started looking into the steps to take for towers now I've already applied with 3 companies to start the process of checking if my area is exaptiable.
We all have our entire lives stored on these little computers we call cell phones, mcpeek86. They simply have to work at all times and in all places, and when they don’t, it’s upsetting to say the least. You came to the right place for some help. Indoor services cannot be guaranteed for many reasons, so we’re going to come at this in two ways. I’ve sent you a Private Note to gather more specifics on what’s happening and to discuss indoor options. You mentioned that you’re looking into expansion of the network in your area, so I’d like to share this page https://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/realestate/index.jsp with you to be sure our team sees your request. Looking forward to working with you via Private Note.

Roger, I've been having some serious issues with data & voice coverage over the last 8-9 months in my office in downtown Atlanta. All of the VZW users in my office have complained about the same thing. I work in the 30303 Zipcode area, corner of Ted Turner and MLK. The poor coverage reminds me of how it was 15 years ago. This time last year, we had decent voice and data even in the interior of our building. Tried a new phone and it's just as bad.
Extremely poor coverage at FLL terminal 3 airport and CLT main terminal airport. one bar at best the whole time. 11/8/19. iphone 8. people I was traveling with on verizon also had poor connection. Turning off/on the cellular would show up at full signal for about 20 seconds and drop down to 1 bar (LTE). Rebooting phone had no better results. Was right next to big windows in the terminals. Other folk on other carriers had full signal.
I'm currently having the same problem.
Jettfarms, I am disappointed to hear about your service experience. What are your cross streets and city of where this is happening? How is your service being impacted (calls, text, or data)? AlbertoR_VZW
SOLUTION - Call Verizon technical support, wait on hold for an hour or more, then when you get a representative you should start to explain the issue so he or she can hang up on you. Rinse and Repeat!
i Have family in Phoenix, El Paso Dallas and Orlando and we all have aweful service with Verizon. We just switched from att and it was an aweful choice. Who would have thought that I would ever miss att.
The Verizon Store is down the block from me and I only get 1 or 2 bars at most in my neighborhood. Verizon is the worst! We just switched from ATT and ATT worked sooooooooooooooo much better
I just switched from ATT and ATT was much better. Verizon is literally the worst!!! I never thought I would miss ATT
Very Poor coverage in Stowe, VT 05672. All Day - every day. Data access disappears as the time of day moves past 9am. Everyone at the Ski Resort can't send text messages or view webpages. It effects thousands of people! Jan 2, 2020
I'm currently working in a warehouse in Santa Ana and I had to walk completely out of my work just to be able to surf the web and post this. I don't get any service once I walk into the door but apparently when I went camping last weekend, I was able to get full bars, 4G in the middle of nowhere but not in the heart of Santa Ana. Can you please help me?
Wow, and Verizon told me they are having no issues or reports. I chatted with them a month or two ago to report poor coverage in the Western Washington (state) area. I told them Seattle, Tacoma, Puyallup, etc. I said it may be due to the capacity of the system not being able to handle the rapid growth in the area. They said they don't see a capacity issue and wanted me to give specifics. Now that I see this thread, and many others like it, it is very apparent that Verizon has some major issues. I, many family and friends in many different areas of the country have also told me that they are experiencing issues. I think it's time to contact some national media outlet to see if they can investigate if Verizon is having problems. However, it may not just be Verizon. I tested T-Mobile and had poor results (and their HQ is right here in the Seattle area). I was going to test AT&T, but they don't have a "Test Drive" like T-Mobile. It's ashame that this is happening. Verizon used to be the best network out there, hands down. Now, when there are issues, they don't seem to be admitting it, taking responsibility and doing something about it. Poor Cellular service when Cell phones are the norm is not good.
The service has been bad since I moved here in April. My daughter, who has lived her for 6 years said she noticed it got worse over the few months before that. I didn't notice anything in Western NY before I moved, but that probably isn't a big enough city to have problems. I know the service was better out here (in WA) too. We never had service problems out here when visiting my daughter. We only noticed it after we moved here.
The worst area that I've noticed seems to be around in the city of Puyallup, and the worst spot in the city seems to be at the intersection of 39th Avenue SW and 94th Avenue E, and the South Hill Mall area.
VERIZON, PLEASE DO SOMETHING!
We want you connected with top speeds. What speeds are the exact you're receiving in this area?https://www.speedtest.net/ JoelD_VZW
We have had verizon cell phones for more than 15 years. Never had issues until the last few months.
We miss so many phone calls from friends and relatives because the signal is so bad. We live in PA.
Our son in CA who is in our family plan also was complaining that reception is very bad.
What is going on?
rajuvenk,
We always want to make sure you can rely on your phone whenever you need it. We value your fifteen years of loyalty and we're here to help. What are your zip code and the nearest cross streets to you? Do you know if others in your area are having similar issues?
AndrewT_VZW
I am in Las Vegas too, just south of the strip (89139). Terrible cell service on all phones with dropped and unintelligible voice at times. I have two JetPacks ... both read in the -114 to -121 range. Finding the sweet spot os the only way to get solid connections. Spend 90 minutes on hold with Verizon (call dropped once while on hold so lost my place in queue). Finally gave up!
I live in the middle of Denver and I get horrible service at my house. It seems like it is getting worse. This past week I have not even been able to call people in my own home because it breaks up so much. I tried to call the number but they would not allow me to select an option to make a complaint. Instead the automatic voice just said "We're sorry you're having problems, goodbye" and hung up. I am very displeased with my verizon service.
Everything we do in our lives relies on dependable cell phone service, Rbaldwin2. We’re saddened to hear that service inside your home has become troublesome and will do all we can to help. What city and state are you in? How far outside the home do you need to be in order to see service improve?
I live in Denver, Colorado. The entire neighborhood I live in is not covered. If I walk around my neighborhood and go to Washington Park it is not really any better. I might need to go more than a mile from my home to get improved service.
Hello -- I have an RF Engineering Background... the Issue below exists for 10+ phones, unrelated people, residents and out of town visitors -- spanning multiple accounts, and all consistently have identical coverage issues described below.
THE COVERAGE ISSUE CAUSED MULTIPLE DROPPED 911 CALLS FOR A LIFE-THREATENING MEDICAL EMERGENCY AND DELAYED EMERGENCY PARAMEDIC RESPONSE BY 10+ Minutes. Sadly, the person that 911 was being called for passed away several later. --- THIS IS A REALLY BIG DEAL, VZW. Please, please, please DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN TO ANOTHER FAMILY.
This is a serious issue and I will be following up with Verizon, and because of the critical issue mentioned above, also filing a report with the Federal Communications commission.
Coverage map indicates perfect coverage, however phones bounce from near-full coverage, to one bar, to no-service and calls may work for several seconds, then cut out and/or drop. This was the case with multiple 911 calls during the above emergency situation.
Location: 90601 (Whittier, CA) -- 5800 Block of Friends Ave (calls attempted both indoors and outdoors with same result) and this is where 911 call failures occurred -- Coverage used to be better but got much worse about a year ago. 911 call failure mode is the same as all other call failures that occur in the same area. [NOTE: the 911 failure did not occur on my line. (My mother-in-law made the call)]
My handset has had zero issues with the exception of this area.
This is the only time I have experienced such an issue with Verizon, and the fact it is in the middle of a very populated metropolitan area is perplexing. Devices seem to bouncing between towers akin to a hand off "loop". I'm Happy to work with RF engineering to troubleshoot (FCC licensed) -- however the issue at hand is phone/handset agnostic - this is *NOT* a phone level issue, it is a NETWORK level issue.
THANK YOU! I look forward to Verizon's response and to having the issue resolved for good.
Our service in Marlborough, MA is so bad right now. Our neighbor just texted us asking if we are having problems too. We all have to go outside our homes and stand near or in the road to make/receive calls. Verizon needs to step the F up and do something about this. Stat!
reils31, you deserve terrific wireless service at all times. I understand how inconvenient it is for you not to be able to use your service, and we want to fix this. I thoroughly reviewed the area you are in and found no service issues or alerts to report. When did the issue with your service begin? Are you experiencing any issues with your texts messages or data?
JacobG_VZW
Same issue here in North Bergen New Jersey - data service went to almost zero in the last 2 days -- and Verizon data is my backup for my Spectrum wifi which is currently out --- paying premium rates for subpar service!
Englewood, I definitely understand the significant role our devices play in our day-to-day life, and I'd be reporting the same if my service was not fully working. What are the results when using the "Run Speed Test" button?
https://www.google.com/search?q=google%20speed%20test&cad=h
We're having the same issues as everyone else on this discussion. Metro Detroit area, all of it. Used to have 4 bars at all times at the house, inside and out. Now, we're lucky if we get 1 bar, often we have no service. We're right next to a major highway and several towers. Awesome reception until about 6 months ago. Last few weeks its been horrible. Customer service opened a trouble ticket and said yep, poor reception, buy some new gear, network extenders. I don't want a sales pitch, I'd like to know why its gone from great to junk in the last few weeks/months. Shouldn't need an extender when I can see towers everywhere.. Did ya break something, or sell your towers to someone else?
Dropped calls, no service or 1x, whatever that is..., constant fluctuating signal strength
We are concerned to hear you are having trouble with your service. There are issues beyond our control that can impact your service such as construction, foliage, population changes or other carrier's network changes. Aside from a network extender, Wi-Fi calling can be an extremely useful tool to assist with calls while indoors. Do you have broadband internet available to you?
JoshuaC_VZW
I do have wifi available. But my concern, for everyone else in my house and in my neighborhood with the same issue of "worked great for years then suddenly barely works", we'd like to know what has changed? We really shouldn't need extenders when the towers are right there. It sure seems like many other customers are having similar issues. As a Verizon customer for the last 15+ years, this is disheartening.
We want each and every customer to have the best cellular experience possible. I wish we had better news. Please send us a private message for additional support. VanetrisC_VZW
I never received a verizon response, yet verizon responds to every other person on this thread.
Is it because I mentioned a life safety issue? Legal liability? I don't get it.Verizon says the block should have FULL coverage (green on map) but it is inaccurate. My statement is based upon surveying over 15 different people on the block at different households, with different phone models, and the only constant is the verizon network.
Out of courtesy, I've held off on the FCC part, and despite being a loyal verizon customer who has never had a problem anywhere else (I get better coverage in EXTREMELY RURAL areas like farmland, etc)
The Local PSAP has the 911 calls logged, the dropped calls, the SR w/ SS7 signaling data. The numerous 911 call backs, dropped calls, mentions of poor vzw coverage to 911 operator, the logged "911 hangups" (call teardowns) that occured on record, and on the verizon side of the interconnect.... and the calls are of course audio recorded, other data retained as standard practice for PSAP compliance. It resulted in A 10 minute delay in medic-one paramedic response, and all due to a network level issue...tragic - IT WILL happen again in the area unless something is done. When people trust a carrier to be able to reach 911, it must work. I haven't requested the data, but there may also be an E911 issue here as well. I absolutely urge that this be passed to regulatory compliance and engineering to be addressed in good faith. I just want it to work. That's it.
Please, please, please, when I recommend verizon - allow me to say that my concerns were at least acknowledged and ideally addressed. At this point, I can say neither. Words can't express how disappointing this is.
Maybe my message was missed. Looking forward to an acknowledgement. Thanks.
Hello, thatguy335. We would be happy to take a deeper look into this with you. We are sending you a Private Note now. CourtneyM_VZW
I like to add my area for problems. At work ,145 Madison Ave , New Milford , NJ. I get NO signal most of the time and very little signal if I step outside with the phone. There is one tower in the other end of town and as I approach it I get good signal. Now. right by us is a tower not two football fields away and it does nothing for us . I am very disgusted with this as my wife tried to call me for an emergency at home and she said my phone went right to voicemail. That is unacceptable for the money we spend with Verizon. This wasn't always the case . The phone used to work just fine until 6 months ago. I heard a rumor that Verizon lost it's lease on the fore-mentioned tower . What gives? If I can't get a solution I have considered switching to a carrier that does work in the area.
Hello Kheran, thank you for reaching out. We would be sad to lose you as a valued customer. We're concerned to hear of the recent coverage changes at your place of work. We understand how important it is for your family to be able to keep in touch with you. Let's dive into this further. Is there anywhere else you experience this issue? Do you know if others in the building experience the same coverage? How far do you need to get from the building for service to improve?
