I have text being sent to a 999-999-9999 on my bill is this a blocked number? if so how do you block a number from showing on the bill?

We know how important it is for your billing to be correct. When you see all nines in the number for a call or text history, this is because the number could not be captured. It is possible that it was a shortcode, or a text from a longer string of numbers than is captured in a 10-digit mobile number. Sometimes automated text messages come from longer numbers because they are being sent through a computer, rather than a phone. Does that make sense?

I would be a bit confused as well.Any unavailable" appears when the telephone number for an unbilled incoming call cannot be captured.Also, "999-999-9999" appears in My Verizon when the telephone number for an unbilled incoming call cannot be captured.

No, it doesnt since the 999-999-9999 number on my bill is via text. A text is sent from 000-000-0000 and the response is 999-999-9999.

I am having the same issue. For some reason a few of the sent not received text messages show up as 999-999-9999 on the Verizon text log. Can you please explain what this means. Thanks
I, too- would love to know what the actual number is, texting! It's not good, to see something like this on a bill, and -can not be explained by giving us, the actual number
My husband’s #1 contact on his cell phone is another woman, younger than me! I am #3!! GRRRR! He has my daughter’s old cell phone and he has no idea that my Verizon Smart Family app is still synced with her number. There are a LOT of 999-999-9999 text messages. Oh...there are also a handful of “photo” text messages but they don’t appear as a photo with the 999 number. I tried calling the number and received a Verizon message that said “the number could not be completed as dialed.” WHAT THE HECK!! Is this a cover?!?! I confronted him about this girl LAST YEAR and he FLIPPED...I became afraid and let it go! I’m so sad 😞

Great question, therat. We understand the importance of knowing why these calls appear in such manner on My Verizon, and we'll gladly explain. This kind of info is exactly what I'm trying to find out as well...my husbands message log has 2 text..one to him from a weird 000-something else number then one from him to the 999 number...
I know it is confusing to see a number with only 0's or 9's, TashaD1224. I'm happy to clarify. As advised earlier in this particular forum, when you see numbers such as this, it it because the number was unavailable for identification as it may have been blocked, sent as a short code message, etc. In other words, the number is not available. Does this clear up the details?

None of what you are says makes any since, a phone on MY ACCOUNT sent a text message but on the text log it reads 999-999-9999. Is it a blocked number or a deleted message from the phone???? Please answer because inquiring minds would like to know!!!!

I had the same question and then I did a test. I sent myself a picture message from husbands phone to my email and it showed up as 999-99-9999 so it is when they send a message to an email address that this shows up. It's also shows as being sent from their#@vtext.com hope this helps
So what your basically saying is it's a hidden number somebody is trying to hide, or in married terms a cheater¡¡¡¡¡
It appears that, if the 999-999-9999 text was sent from a phone on your account, it was most likely to an email address which, is why Verizon couldn't pick up the number

It’s not I promise. It shows that I. Text that 999 999 999 number when I am asleep so it’s something odd with Verizon.

Your explanation does not make sense and I would like a more detailed reason Why 999-999-9999 are appearing on my boyfriends Verizon phone log as Outgoing Texts that he says he did Not send?? Verizon needs to change this hidden billing/log process of phone numbers and be transparent and SHOW all REAL numbers that calls and texts are being sent and received from! In reading many of your customer inquires about this Verizon is causing a lot of problems between people when you do not show the real numbers! Stop displaying 999-999-9999 numbers and show Which number the text is really going to/coming from or it makes me want to change carriers! I've been with Verizon for over 30 years and this business practice is Unacceptable!! Reply with a more detailed explanation as to Why you are hiding numbers with a 999-999-9999 number?!!

What other circumstances would an Outgoing Text be displayed as a 999 number instead of showing the real number?
