Johnbhill, we take account security very seriously and are glad to hear that you were able to identify the call as a phishing attempt. In order to better assist, I have a few questions. I understand that the phone number showing on the Caller ID was manipulated. How were you made aware that the call was from Technical Support specifically? Was any account or personal information provided?

I just had the same thing but the number was 800-922-0208. The call says that the verizon account has been frozen pending verification. I hung up after that.
I just received the same call from the same number only minutes ago. I hung up without talking/pressing 1, 2, etc and logged on to my account in order to be sure I truly was not locked out.
I have just received the same call - this is the third time this week - telling me that my cell account has been frozen for security purposes and asking me to press 1 to unfreeze it or press 2 to speak to a customer service rep.
you just reported the call, thanks.
I just received the same call but the number was 888-488-7200. They said my account was suspended. They wanted my Pin Number. Luckily I couldn't remember it. I logged into my account and changed all my security and added 2 step verification. They sound very athentic. Seems to be a common scam because according to the call I got last week my social security account is also suspended. Beware!
We had an issue processing your vz wireless payment. Please update here to maintain coverage. https://billpayid32.com/vz/j

Adentz22 Thank you for reaching out to us. I will report this to the appropriate individuals. You didn't provide any information right? DoloresK_VZW
i got this from 800-225-5499 how do i report this to Verizon?
We are concerned to hear that you are receiving spam calls. To confirm, is there a particular reason why you believe this number is spam? For how long has this been going on? DavidR_VZW
I got a call from this number (800) 481-0412 pretending to be Verizon please beware of it

I've had six calls from 800-922-0298 in the last few hours telling me my account is suspended.
"We are calling you from the verification department at Verizon Wireless. Your account is suspended by verification. Press one to activate your account. Press two to speak with a customer service representative. "
We want to help keep your wireless account secure and appreciate you reaching out, Aedrie. Thanks for reaching out here. Did you provide any account specific information? Do you use the blocking feature previously mentioned in this thread? Looking forward to your response.
Just had a disturbing/concerning one you guys should know about: got a spam robocall spoofing my own mobile number. I have a partial recording on my voicemail from the call, it appears to have started playing before my voicemail started so the clip I have is "Would have been suspended for verification. To reactivate your account, please press 1. To speak with a representative, please press two."
Clearly easy to spot but also worried they're trying to do more. When are you guys going to implement STIR/SHAKEN??
Thanks for reaching out. Have you looked into our call filter options? Please use the link provided to learn more. https://www.verizonwireless.com/solutions-and-services/call-filter/ JoelD_VZW
They are also using 1-800-922-2004 to get your information. Same Verizon account is suspended, enter in your pin and last four of your social, scam. Just don't answer.
Let’s put a stop to this issue to this Scam Call issue. A private message has been sent to assist you further.

My wife and I received a scam phone call as well. The number was (770) 627-7184 when I called it back it sent me to Terry Jones’s voicemail. I looked up Terry Jones on LinkedIn and it states he is a tech help employee for Verizon. I checked with Verizon they told me they do not call customers directly with local area code.
I just got a call. The caller ID said it was from Me or 3 others. It said my Verizon service had been suspended. I would like to report this.
Hello, there. We know how frustrating scam, spoof, and robocalls can be. We recommend getting our Call Filter tool to help cut down on these calls. You can learn more here: http://spr.ly/660419rdo. Alternatively, you can also add your number to the Do Not Call List. You can do this by going to http://spr.ly/660519rdU, or by calling 1-888-382-1222. You can also report the calls to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). I hope this helps.

I just had the same thing happen to me except the call came from my own phone number. They told me my account had been suspended, which I knew wasn't true and then told me to put in my pin number. I then hung up.
Thank you so much for the additional information you have provided regarding this matter leighmoore01. We are glad to hear that you did not provide any information when asked as we want to make sure your account is protected at all times. If you receive any texts or emails that seem suspicious please forward them to number 7726 or emailed to phishing@verizonwireless.com I certainly hope that helps.

I had a Robo-call saying Verizon was suspending my number for fraudulent activity. Press 1 to login, then it asked for my zip, pin, last four of social. As I was suspicious, and knew I would get a chance to re-enter wrong info; I entered incorrect info to all prompts. Then it stated all cleared up. BEWARE!!
Delfinomascarenas, thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I am glad to learn, that you did not provide any personal information. Verizon Wireless would never call you and ask for you to provide personal information. We have a great tool to help you avoid spam calls. I also got a scam call saying they were Verizon and my account is suspended. Scammer number was 1-800-788-0088 received at 8:55pm cst.
At 5:10 pm Mar.26 I got a scam call from +1 (800) 922-2676. It was a robo call telling me my acct had been suspended and to enter my PIN. I hung up after that. How do we report these to Verizon? No easy way to discover in searching Verizon.com
Received two calls within a hour of each other. Told me my Verizon account was locked and to press 1 to unlock. I did not press anything and hung up. Calls were from 413715xxxx and413532xxxx
Breezywag,
We understand that these calls can be scary at best. We do have teams that constantly monitor these types of calls. They are difficult to research due to the method called Spoofing. The incoming call info is hidden and cannot be easily traced and usually changed regularly.

I am receiving spam calls that are warranty scams from Verizon customer cell phones. This needs to stop.
The Verizon spam filter doesn't work on these calls.

864-934-6015
864-934-1282
While it is not possible to prevent 100% of all Spam calls, it’s our goal to do everything we can to prevent them. Here are all the current options we have:
https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-218765/
(All the blocking options are listed at the bottom of the page)
Waiting on hold for 15 to 20 minutes is simply out of the question to report fraud. And your call back number wont work because I have all calls forwarded to my magic app, due to robo calls you don't stop without a fee. So someone who calls my Verizon number must dial a random given number to reach me, thus ending robo calls. Back to the Verizon scam number... 800 922 8145 saying my account has been suspended. Obviously it is a scam.
We're sorry to hear about the wait time right now, Utahstormchaser. No call is necessary to report an attempted scam. Please feel free to stay on top of what's going on with the robocalling situation here: https://vz.to/3bizXgT We recommend trying using your service without forwarding calls, as Stir Shaken and verified inter-carrier calling have begun. I personally haven't received a spam call in a couple weeks, and I used to receive many a day. In addition, you can also use our free Call Filter app to further enhance your experience. There is a paid version of this as well, however, you do not receive improved automatic spam filtering with that service. Thank you again for your vigilance. We hope this information helps. EricW_VZW
I just got a call from my own number saying my account is frozen, so I just hung up and did not press the key they wanted. How does this happen?
I received a call today from 413-252-6607 saying my account was frozen and to press 1 to unfreeze. I hung up, but would like to report the number.
Hello, @Ver283! We understand that receiving unwanted calls can be inconvenient. It certainly is alarming to see that you received this call. No worries, we are here to help. Did they provide you any other details over the phone? Do you currently have any application to stop these calls from coming in?

As a Verizon customer, I want you to know there is hacking going on within your network. I received a "call" from my voicemail requesting I share security info. In the meantime my account they told me was suspended. Please try to do something. Thanks.
I know how how upsetting these type of calls can be, from personal experience. We appreciate the information, pfschneide. Just to clarify, did the message come from a number that you could see?
I just got a spam robo call saying "Dear Verizon wireless customer, your account has been suspended", at which point I hung up, knowing it was spam. It came from 615-513-7046. I usually don't answer calls from numbers I don't know, but I was waiting on a group call and thought it might be those folks calling. I did block that number, but I know they call from other numbers as well.
