Can SmartHubs still be activated?

I want to replace my DSL line with a mobile home internet plan. My concern is that SmartHubs have been discontinued but they seem like the perfect device for my need. I want to buy one of eBay since Verizon does not offer them directly anymore and then subscribe to an unlimited plan. As the title says, can they still be activated?

I know how important it is to have a reliable Internet connection for your home. SmartHub requires a special plan and does not include an Unlimited option. We no longer offer SmartHub's for sale. Does this help clarify for you?

I have two SmartHubs for backup in case my DSL fails. Are you saying I can no longer activate them now that I have them?
