New iPhoneX Max not receiving short code texts

I just switched from a 6s to an Xs Max today and everything is peachy aside from that I cannot use my banking apps. They send shortcode texts to verify my identity and I cannot receive them. I know Verizon supports them because my 6s received them just fine.

Any fixes or workarounds for this?

First off, let me ask you, have you updated the device to the latest software? Also, go ahead and try to reset your network settings by using the following steps:

1. Tap Settings from your Home screen.
2. Select General.
3. Scroll down to and tap on Reset.
4. Select Reset network settings from the given options.
5. If prompted, enter your device password to continue.
6. Then tap the option to confirm.
