Voicemail notification not working

I have an Iphone Xs Max and my Visual Voicemail is not working plus its not giving me any notifications about new voicemails i have. I have to constantly keep dialing 1 to check to see if i have any messages. I've tried resetting my iphone and my voicemail system but nothing seems to work. Also I'm on verizon Prepaid if that helps. This has also been going on for months.

That's a long time to have this ongoing visual voicemail issue. Sorry for this inconvenience. We're stepping in to help. Did you complete the initial set up of Visual Voicemail on your iPhone?

Your device is required to connect to our network to use Visual Voicemail. Is your device connected to Wi-Fi or our cellular data network? Please disable Wi-Fi by tapping Settings>Wi-Fi OFF. This will force your device to connect to our cellular data network. Are you able to browse the internet or use the application successfully?
