I an notified by sound of a new text message, but receive nothing. Immediately, the screen says "Message expired or not available."
Hello there, dns1! We are concerned your device is not working as expected, and we would be glad to help you and go through some troubleshooting steps to get your messages working again. When did this issue start?
I'm having the same issue and it started about two months ago.
overit1060,
That's a long time to deal with that. We want to get you back to having the service you need. How often is this happening? Do you know if anyone is trying to text you at that time?

I have the same problem receiving MMS or group text messages. If either says "Message expired or not available" or "Unsupported file" and has been happening for about 3 months. And it doesn't matter who sends me the text, it could be an iPhone user or Android user; a Verizon user or another carrier.
I am having the same problem
This is definitely concerning, we know how important it is to get your messages and want to make sure this is properly resolved. What messaging application are you using? When did this problem start?
I am having the same issue, I can say on my Razer phone 2 it is only the group messages that are being affected, and it is not all of them. If I had to say, I'm missing about 1 in 15-25 messages this way (again only in group messages). I am using the default messaging app for the phone. This issue started around the middle of August. At first it wasn't a big issue but it has started happening more frequently lately.
Hearing that you are having issues with receiving text messages concerns us. We know most people converse via texts these days and we want to help in any way we can with resolving this issue. Can you please send us a private message, so we can delve into this?
I have had this issue for months and months. The Google message has the issue. But textra can't do group messages so you are forced to use google messages. Uninstalling and reinstalling do not work
I just purchased a OnePlus 8 a couple of weeks ago and I've had this problem with both group and single texts. I'm using the Google Messenger app and I'm losing 2-3 texts per day.
I don't believe this problem is specific to Google Messages. I temporarily switched to Signal and experienced the same problem. I have tried many possible solutions and none of them worked. I called Verizon, spoke on the phone with them for more than an hour, and they could not figure it out. The Verizon technician opened a "network investigation" ticket and I'm waiting to hear back (they gave me a 2-3 day estimate, but in some cases it could take up to week). I'll update this thread with their response. My phone is a BlackBerry KEY2 LE.
Using Messages - google llc
I spoke with a few different tech support people at Verizon and they spent an hour fiddling with my account. Had me disable group texting and other settings, nothing worked.
There are a number of replies and discussion points in this thread, Dldf. We want to be sure we have a full understanding of your issue with messaging. Please tell us more about what happens, so we can work on a solution for you.
