XR phone speaker not very loud

my phone calls always have to be on speaker because my phone speaker isn't loud enough to hear a normal phone call. I can hear fine watching a movie just while calling I cant hear at all and my speaker doesn't work very well people cant hear me very well when I call them

We want to make sure you are able to get this adjusted accordingly. The in-call volume can be adjusted using the side volume keys on the iPhone, but only during a call. Have you been able to try this? You can learn more here: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-163920/
