How come Verizon oneplus 8s are not being updated to the latest operating systems?
What does that have to do with anything? We're not talking about connectivity issues here. We're talking about the lack of OS updates in a timely manner as well as the lack of clear communication regarding the status of them. Do you even know basic reading comprehension?
Which update are you trying to download on the device? Is your device battery life at 50% and connected to Wi-Fi? TaylorH_VZW
The question was. When will Android 11 be r available for the OnePlus 8 on Verizon?
In this case, we would not have a date for when the update for the phone will be available, as this is determined by the manufacturer. We would recommend reaching out to them directly.

That's garbage. Verizon installed their own update service on the one plus 8 uw. OnePlus has had Android 11 out for quite awhile on the 8 series and now even the 7 series. So again, when will Verizon show some love for the oneplus 8 5G UW that they saw fit to lock down so heavily.
Pixel. I switched to 1+ from Pixel. Beta/Updates were amazing. Now we wait with excuses. We wait for 1+ to release it (done) We wait for Google (done) We wait for verizon (WHY).... Can someone explain why we can get betas and updates for Pixels but the same isn't available for this phone, through vzw?? I like the phone. I guess I'm spoiled from the last 4 years of Pixel updates. Some responses said something about T-Mobile. Perhaps It's time to check them out, after almost 20 years with verizon...... or unlock the phone so we can update it ourselves.
jjjak3108, We'd be sad to see you leave so early into the new year, so I want to make sure I provide the clarity that you are looking for. As stated in this thread, the developers have not announced the reason for the delay. What I can do is lift up the sentiments of this thread by you and the other OnePlus 8 users to our internal device forums so that your feedback can be lifted. I can see that you and many others are eager to get the latest software, so I will make sure your requests are echoed. The explanation of why the betas of the Pixels are available but not other devices has not been fully confirmed in our resources, but a general understanding is that since Android and Pixel are both owned by Google it is easier for Google to push through beta updates for their own licensed phones. This is absolutely heartbreaking.Nowhere does it mention Verizon OnePlus 8uw.Even the OnePlus 6 is getting the update.....
I want my Pixel back!

I'm very curious about this myself. I just came from sprint had a oneplus 7 Pro 5G that I could not activate on your network because it's not supported. So I had to upgrade to the 8 and come to find out it's still on oxygen 10. My 7 Pro is updated to oxygen 11 and it's older. Very upset with this. I can't even find any information on this version getting a update. Every other oneplus on every carrier is updated but this one. If I would have known that I would never purchased a Oneplus 8 on verizon. Please let me know this will change. Or I'd like to switch my phone for something different. This phone isn't even old. Makes no sense why it isn't updated.
You don't need any battery to get updates Verizon won't pro ide!
You don't know what you are talking about which makes this all the more frustrating. We've hit a stone wall if this is the best a Verizon rep can do.
I started this thread back in November, having waited a long time then after other carriers had updated the 8. It has been a long frustrating wait but I got it today. I am happy to have it but not about how long it took to receive it. I also don't believe this was a manufacturer issue, but even if there is shared culpability, Verizon should step up and accept responsibility. Pointing the finger elsewhere was not the solution. It had the clout to have a carrier unique version made. Now make sure it is supported in a timely manner. This has certainly tested my loyalty and I have been a customer for over 20 years. Thanks fir this. We'll see how it goes.
They were just updated and I have to say it is garbage. Black screens (unable to unlock), more random freezing on apps, and touch seems busted or tied to freezing. Multiple restarts to correct. Another disappointment..
goldbondx, the issues experience can all be easily rectified. We recommend making sure your device is backed up and completing a factory reset should the behaviors experienced since your update continue.
