anyone?
No, I've waited long enough.
mmm im on the fence with this one.. decisions.. decisions..
not me I will wait for the Iphone15 I think
Not me waited long enough and I'll be happy to have the iphone4

This was a very tough decision for me and I have flip flopped a hundred times but I think I have finally decided to wait to see what this summer brings. I have waited 4 years what's another 5 months. Although I know that I am going to be **bleep** if they don't offer the iphone 5 to Verizon right away. Oh well.
I'm waiting to Summer to see if the 5 with 4G/LTE comes out. No sense in buying a 4 that may be obsolete in 4 months.
No. I want unlimited data. 4g will be way more expensive.
yea im worried abaout that too...
Apple doesn't jump on new technology until late in the game.
My predictions:
iPhone 5
iPhone 6
And by the time iPhone 6 is out, my contract for the iPhone 4 will be up.

I am willing to put money down it won't happen until next year. 5 will be on AT&T and GSM first, and then CDMA late in the year. This has been the trend for Apple since the FIRST iPhone. January/Feb is probably Verizon's release date. China got theirs before Verizon did and it wasn't released the same time as any GSM iPhone.
No, if I want to switch to the iPhone 5 then I can sell my iPhone 4 on eBay and use the money towards it. But, I'd rather not pay more for 4g when my area may not even have it right away.
Very true, 4G still needs to become widespread... It's useless to me right now. But by the time the iPhone 6 comes out I suspect it will be a lot better.
I'm with those who've waited long enough. I had toyed with waiting for iPhone 5, but then began to think, well, what if they don't release that for Verizon in June or July? Then you are waiting again with uncertainty. Apple always remains tight lipped on this stuff. I don't care about 4G because chances are our towers won't get upgraded until later anyway. And who needs those extra milliseconds that you're going to save with a faster processor? I have an iPod Touch 2G that's over 2 years old and has a slow processor by today's standards but it still does everything I want it to do and does it well. I anticipate that kind of longevity from my iPhone 4.
No waiting here.
The iPhone 4 will likely get refreshed at some point this year with a couple spec updates, but we are most unlikely to see an iPhone 5 with dual antennas this year. You could only benefit from such a phone in very select market areas; and Apple has indicated that the hardware is not ready yet. They're not going to drop the iPhone 4 model within a year after its release, as well as mere months after millions just got it on vzw ... including people that already had one or more iPhones on ATT.
I also doubt Apple would roll out phone upgrades at different times, as in summer for ATT & winter for VZW. I really don't see that happen. Apple likes to keep it simple, avoid confusion, negative press, ... Who knows what the new release time will be, but likely it will not change. If anything it could slow down a bit, as with some of their other product cycles.
This summer or fall there will be a refresh of the iPhone 4. Next year at the earliest the iPhone 5 dual carrier.
When people were telling me "oh wait until july for the next one" i thought I waited years for it to come to verizon i held off not switching to at&t. I just seems weird to me that apple would release another iphone for verizon in a few months. Have they ever done something like that where in a 5 month period they release a newer model? Apple has released a new iphone about once a year for at&t. If they were going to roll out a 4g iPhone wouldnt they just wait until July to release a verizon iphone? It doesnt matter to me because i have another upgrade on my plan in july.
I have had the iPhone when it first came out...all the way up to the 3Gs... but couldn't take AT&T..so stuck with Verizon.... so now that the iPhone is now on Verizon...I had to order the first one...and when the iPhone 5 comes to Verizon...I will order that one too...
I say that the 5 won't be much of a differnce than the 4. The first 3 gens were very similar....battery upgrade and better cell network ( that was about At&t and not just the phone, they just made it compatible). I only see the antenna being fixed and maybe a better processor.
Sometimes it only takes 4 times to get it right.
Short answer:No.Long answer:I've been stuck with a Samsung Glyde for 2 years. It only dials 30% of the time. My husband, who also had a Glyde, was so annoyed with his he reactivated his Motorola Razor after 5 months. Waiting for a phone that may or may not be on Verizon in June wasn't an option for us.
i'm using my upgrade for the thunderbolt. as of now verizon has not yet changed their data plan for 4g. so if i can get a 4g phone in 3 weeks at the $30 unlimited rate, then i'm jumping on that and hoping to get grandfathered in. if they do anounce a change in pricing before the thunderbolt comes out, then i'll likely wait to compare everything that comes out this summer.

Sounds like a good plan. My gut feeling is that the data plan will not change but that there will be an addtional $10 LTE fee added to any line that is activated with a LTE capable phone.

that's what i think too....but they haven't done it yet and i found a leaked screenshot to best buy's inventory that listed the thunderbolt and the accompanying unlimited 4g data plan at $29.99. most of the 4g devices don't come out until this summer so i'm just (pesimistically) hoping that they don't change it until AFTER i get my thunderbolt and i can get unlimited 4g for $30!!! it likely wont happen, but until they change their plans, i can hope
They said that pricing for unlimited data is for a limited time only. They will be changing to tiered data like att. I think they are doing this to get people to buy the iphone right away.
Kind of..............I ordered 2 iPhone 4's and have another upgrade available now and one in March coming up so when iPhone 5 comes out I will be getting it for myself, giving my 32g iPhone 4 to my ex and he will give his 16g to our middle son, who will then pass his droid to my daughter. I think my oldest son may use the march upgrade for an iPhone 4 because he just informed me that he doesn't like the new samsung fascinate I just got him for Christmas. There was no way I was going to pass up the iPhone 4--I have waited way to long already!
Not waiting...
1. No guarantee the iPhone 5 will arrive this summer in a Verizon model.
2. No guarantee the the 5 will be LTE/4G compatible. Not Apple’s M.O.
3. As someone who used to work in electronic’s sales... the old adage applies here. “If you want to wait for the latest and greatest ____. You will always be waiting."
I have had my Samsung SCH-a950 maybe 10 or more years..
There is always going to be a new phone coming out..
and i have been waiting for apple to go to verizon
so i'm ready for my iphone4..
as tug101 mentioned, steve jobbs has shown no interest in creating a 4g iphone. maybe that will change now that he has stepped down for a while? but he's made it pretty clear on two issues....1) apple will not be impplementing flash to the iphone, and 2) he is not very interested in developing a 4g iphone since at&t doesn't even have 4g and only select markets have it for verizon.
i personally wont get one for those two reasons specifically. but like tug also mentioned, if the iphone is what you want, there will ALWAYS be a newer model around the corner, so what's the point of waiting?

Uhm... yes they do roll out at different times. AT&T get's it first, then most of Europe starting with the UK, then CDMA for Asia starting with China... They will split it to not overload their servers on initial release. Just because Verizon has gotten the iPhone I don't think they'd be pushed in front of the line, and honestly they shouldn't.
I do agree that the next version is will similar to the 3G and 3GS devices where it was minor changes, and overall design the same.
Wonder if they are taking orders for the iphone5
You've revived a thread that is well over a year old...at this point it is known that the phone released after the iPhone 4 was not the iPhone 5, but the 4s. Until Apple announces the next iPhone no one would be taking orders for it.
