Has anyone else had the issue of their services being shut off due to overpayment of their promise to pay?
I had made 2 promise to pays for the months of December for $100 each. I made the first payment the day of the promise but had made it 101.94 just so my balance was at an even number with no change. About a week after my services were disconnected. So I reached out to financial services to figure out why my account was suspended when I made a payment on the promised date. Their response was because i made a payment of $101.94 instead on $100.00... i always ask if paying more would ever be an issue with my bills, and I was always told it’s not an issue. But apparently this wasn’t the case with me. I paid just $1.94 more and “Verizon’s system suspended my account due to over payment” per the agent I spoke to and that their system is very strict and will shut down accounts when they don’t receive the amount promised. Please tell me how this is even right? Regardless if it’s just $1.94 or $50, $100 etc more than what was promised, Verizon is telling me that they will “punish” their customers for giving them more money? Me paying $1.94 more than what I was supposed to got me leaving work 2 hours earlier than I was supposed to, going to their store front and paying $97 to get my services turned back on. Definitely not what I was expecting, just 4 days before Christmas, I had to give up money that was supposed to go toward Christmas presents for my kids to pay for a consequence that I shouldn’t have to be paying for considering I gave them exactly what I promised and a little more. On top of that we’re the fees just for talking to the financial services agents. I am livid with this experience.
