Anybody get slapped with late fees because of delayed US Postal Service?

You should be able to contact customer service or financial services and they should be able to rectify this situation for you.

This is the second month this has happened to me. Payment was mailed two weeks ahead of due date in December, but payment was not credited for over a month. Payment for January was mailed the day the bill came, again two weeks ahead of due date, as of today payment has still not been credited. I have been a Verizon customer for almost 45 years and a wireless customer for approximately 20 years. I have NEVER missed a payment. Other utility payments are getting to providers on time, including home phone and internet through Verizon, only Verizon Wireless is being delayed. I doubt that the post office would hold only Verizon Wireless hostage! I wonder if this is a ploy by Verizon Wireless to force everyone to use online payment?

Verizon was founded in 1983 and wasn't Verizon until 2000, that isn't 45 years ago.

Second, why are you sending paper checks during a pandemic? It takes under 2 minutes to pay online or through the app and less than 4 using the automated system. There isn't a valid reason not to pay through other means. Even my non tech savvy mother in law in her 60s pays bills online just fine.

You are right...I started out with Bell of Pennsylvania which was eventually bought out by Verizon. I am a retired postal worker trying to save jobs for postal workers. I also have Verizon internet which is very unreliable in my rural area...dsl here...no broadband...dropped at least 5 times a day. Maybe your 60 year old mother-in-law could teach my husband, who is in his 70s how to use online bill payment. As I have stated I am too old and tired!

Yes Verizon seems to be using late fees to force customers to pay on line. Time to look for a new phone service.

I too was hit with a late fee for the first time. I does seems we are being forced to sign up for direct payment. Time to look of a service that does not do this.

Verizon is claiming the post office delayed my payment by over 10 days. I checked with the post office and they claim mail is not being delayed. So it seems there is a push by Verizon to get us to sign up for direct payment. Maybe it is time to check to see if other carriers are doing the same thing.

I got my first late payment fee. I do not believe the Postal Service is delaying mail by 11 days. I seems to be a push to get us to sign up for direct payment.
