Will Samsung A52 5G work on Verizon network?

I have been looking at the Samsung A52 5G to buy for my prepaid account. The 3 different Verizon store employees I spoke to said "yes, you can buy any unlocked phone, take the sims card out of your old phone and put it in the new phone." One employee told me that it was probably the same phone but the A42 is just for Verizon. My concern is that when I go to the Verizon website the only new phone they show is the Samsung A42. I went to the Samsung site and compared the two and they are NOT the same. I just want to know if the A52 5G will work on the Verizon network or not.

So is there a way to get the device ID before actually buying it? I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a phone and then find out it won't work on my account. Geeez I thought this would be a simple question, but no one seems to be able to give me a straight answer.

As fun as it was to see Verizon employees repeat the same thing again and again lol I hope you got the answer you needed!

I was also researching this for a friend of mine and I was able to confirm with bestbuy, Samsung and even sprint lol that it will work on the CDMA network. The only thing you WONT be able to access is the Ultra Wideband of Verizon. But let's be honest... by the time that's available to use in more than 4 sq. Blocks of 20 ish cities you'll be getting a new phone again! The A52 will pick up the normal 5g and 4gLte spectrum. If you already purchased and confirmed this info go ahead and let the group know as well!

I have two unlocked A52 phones i purchased thorough Samsung. They are both on the Verizon network. All i did was remove the SIM from my old phones and put it into the A52. No issues.

I even used the link they've been sharing and confirmed my phone is compatible

Post back when you get it set up if everything works. There are many phones for verizon so why are people stuck on this particular phone?

The A52 has the right mix of performance and a headphone jack.

Simple as that for why people want it. Considering switching networks as well since Verizon wants to bully folks into buying the flagship phones.

I don't miss the headphone jack on my note 10 plus. My son got me the nicest wireless ear buds, so much better than having a cord. I needed storage so love having 256gb. All depends on what suits you.

Can't say for sure that GSM vs cdma doesn't matter anymore but this article says it may not. Don't know if Verizon fully transitioned voice to all LTE.

The bands the the phones work on are important. You need a phone that at least has the correct bands for the network you are on. Many phones has bands that can connect to any carrier network. But it is more optimal to have more bands that can connect to the carrier network for things like network congestion I suppose.

Too many times my Bluetooth earphones are out of battery.

Need the ability to be on long calls with earphones and the ability to charge my phone. USB to earphone adapters can't do both yet - at least with an sort of reliability. And then you need to stash adapters around so you have them.

OMG ..... I opened this Question on May 11th 2021 and finally on July 29th 2021 someone from Verizon actually answers the question that apparently a lot of us had/have. I have the same problem. Mine is A52 5M. When I took it to activate, Verizon told me that it has to be Galaxy A52 model number: SM-A52 5U1. Now I have to call technical support tomorrow again and find out what can I do. Also my A52 5M did not bring a SIM card, so I have to get that also, if I can use it. What a mess.

A:Answer It will work on CDMA and GSM networks but the only caveat is that the 5G on the Samsung A52 5G does not support Verizon's UWB (Ultra Wide Band) for 5G. It will still use Verizon's 5G but if only Ultra Wide Band is available where you are then you won't get the best speeds. The different bands/standards are so confusing that you have to do a lot of research into them. If you buy a phone from your carrier it will support whatever bands they use.

After posting this though, I read more and many are saying the A52 does NOT work on CDMA (or maybe some do, some don't, or if you have the right SIM card it will). Researching phones is maddening!
