I think it is totally ridiculous that Verizon charge you $7 to get assistance on your bill. If I'm already needing help, your extra charge isn't assistance. People are struggling from the pandemic and they don't care about their loyal customers at all.

Incorrect. You get charged $7 if someone takes a payment for you or makes a promise to pay. Both actions can be done through the app, website and payment IVR to avoid the fee all together. You don't get charged a fee to have someone look at the bill.
