Reporting a dead zone in Philadelphia

Hello,

I'd like to report a dead zone in Philadelphia (19125). A very significant part of my neighborhood seems to get absolutely zero coverage from Verizon, and at all times of day. My wife is on T Mobile and seems to get much better coverage in this area.

I'm completely at my wit's end and wondering how such a populated part of a city could get so little coverage so consistently.

It is probably also worth noting that when I had a Verizon tech in the house this past week to assist in internet installation, he also had no cell service anywhere near the house.

Hey Jacob,

This is happening all over the surrounding couple of blocks, not just in my house. There's no 4G/LTE, rare 3G data, and usually 1-2 bars or no cell coverage at all. Phone calls have poor quality and are often dropped.

I have a Samsung Note 9, but this is also happening on all of my family's phones as well (iPhone 12s).

Currently there are no reported issues for that zip code you provided. Is the issue only happening when indoors or do you have the same problem when outside of your home? What shows on your phone for the signal it is getting from us when outside?

There is an area with about a six block radius in 19125 that has near zero Verizon coverage for the entire 4 years I have lived here. It affects all wireless customers and has for years. I have told Verizon about this dead zone many times over those four years.

for anyone reading this, Verizon has never done anything about it. Switch to at&t or T-Mobile if you live in the large dead zone of 19125

800 block of Almond ST in Philadelphia is total VZ dead one. 100% dead all day, everyday. Friends using ATT and T Mobile have 4-5 bars. Zippo for VZ.

This has been happening to me since I switched to Verizon Wireless in September 2021. Looking at this thread I can see I am not alone and that several other customers are having the same or similar issues.

This isn't an issue of individual customers or troubleshooting their devices. It's about how Verizon Wireless delivers service to the area.

I will need to go with another carrier if this continues much longer.

I can confirm that I also do not have Verizon coverage whenever I am in a particular area of the 19125 area code. This has happened to me about 10 times in the last four months. Usually this occurs when I am getting gas at the Wawa, or am leaving Fishtown Crossing Shopping Mall. The streets in the surrounding area in the 19125 zip code that I have encountered lost coverage are Aramingo Ave, Cumberland St, Thompson St, and Huntingdon St.

Why is there dead service here? I do not get coverage again until I am several blocks away in a different part of the 19125 zip code.
