Delayed Voicemail and Text Message Delivery

I have been experiencing occasional delays in receiving text messages and voicemail notifications.

Occasionally, text messages will not be delivered to me for several days until a flurry of texts arrive all at once. This has happened intermittently over the past year or two.

Additionally, today, I received a voicemail and was surprised to discover an unread visual voicemail from June 25th. It was a friend calling to inform me that she was in the hospital and she was reaching out for my support. 18 days had passed, and I never received a notification that I had a voicemail and my call log has no record of a phone call from the number that left the message. This is obviously extremely distressing.

Please help me to understand why these errors are occurring so that I can take steps to have them remedied. My phone is always on, with data turned on. I reset my phone about once every other week and install all updates once I receive notifications that they are available. I do not turn on "Do Not Disturb" and have set call and text messages to override "Do Not Disturb." I checked my settings and notifications are turned on (however, most "Advanced options" are greyed out). I have two sim cards and purchased my phone (OnePlus 7 Pro) in 2019.

Hi - I have had this problem for years. Your issues and situation are the same as mine. I just found out today that I missed a call from a potential employer, from 18 days ago. This is very frustrating and I am at the point of checking into other services.

And it is frustrating to read accounts of this very same problem from years back, not just recent. I read where others have reset phones, checked data, etc all the recommended procedures but nothing works.

If I find anything that works I will let you and the community know.

Missing a call from a potential employer is the last thing we want to happen. I'd like to access your account to best assist you.

How do the other services work (data)? How far do you have to travel before you get good service? Please let us know when you are available to proceed.

I've had this issue frequently over the past several years. Voicemails will surface anywhere from days to 1½ months after they were recorded. I missed two calls from my doctor this week because of delayed delivery.

Text messages have been much more reliable though still not perfect. Several have simply never appeared.

Thanks for posting this problem.

I have the same problem with late delivery of incoming text messages. These late messages will often cascade in 4-5 at a time, sometimes 1-2 days late.

I'd also note that the messages often are "released?" to me if I open my messaging app and do something in there.....seems to trigger the incoming batch of texts.

Any help would be appreciated. Nothing posted out on the web seems to work.

Same issue. I'm receiving important business calls days after a deadline has passed and urgent personal texts too late to respond. Verizon is not addressing this issue. I've read about 15-20 posts on this issue so far, and apparently there is no community solution yet and no response from Verizon.

I know how much I rely on both voiceemail message and text messages to arrive in a timely manner myself. We are here to help out and find a solution. There may not be a one-size fits all solution that would apply to everyone, which is why one isn't posted here in this thread. Let's start by gathering some additional details about your situation. When specifically did this issue first start happening? Any trouble with phone calls, outgoing messages, or data on your device?
