my outgoing calls suddenly started showing up as "private" or "no caller id" even for recipients who have me in their contacts

I called Verizon about something else and they did something to me such that my phone number no longer displays to people I call--even if they have my # in their contacts! I did not ask for this. How do I undo it? I am trying to make calls but people just ignore them.
