Why did I just start getting a "SIM card is not from Verizon wireless" notification? I haven't done anything with my SIM card
This problem cropped up a few days ago. There is a discussion on Reddit in the Verizon subreddit. Seems to be happening on Verizon branded OnePlus 8 phones. Here's a link to that:

Hello RJG844,
I would be concerned too if I were having any issues with my device! What is the make and model of your phone? Where did you purchase it? Where did you get your Verizon SIM card?
-Christopher
The phone is the verizon branded OnePlus 8 5G UW, purchased from Verizon. The SIM card came with the phone. If you look at the Verizon subreddit link I posted, you'll see others with the exact same phone have been reporting the same problem. This started well before the recent security update so it was not the update that caused it. Everyone is reporting they did nothing to their phones when this notice started appearing. The phones seem to be fully functional and the notification is easily dismissed. Still it indicates an issue that should be resolved.
Thanks for looking into this issue.
crdennett,
That sort of message would get old quickly. I know how important it is that your phone work correctly. Are you using a Verizon SIM card in the phone? When you dismiss the notification what triggers it to come back?
-Andrew
As I noted previously, the SIM came with the phone when I bought the phone from Verizon over 2 years ago. This just started happening to me and others with the same phone in the past week or so. The notification reappears when the phone is rebooted.

Getting the same issue. Hard reset phone, went to Verizon store, got a new sim, and also got a new phone (warrenty replace) nothing has resolved this issue. Must be something network side that changed. Seems to be a common occuranceper the mentioned reddit thread
Having the SAME ISSUE & working it with technical support. Not confident yet.....
S1ryfe, if your issue is still unresolved we can help file an IT ticket to address the SIM error message internally.

OnePlus 8 5G purchased just over a year ago. It has a verizon SIM card, but I replaced THAT as well with another sim from a local verizon store.
Is this a problem that is being resolved? I placed a call to my local shop where I purchased that phone, they suggested I should seek a warranty replacement (even though it is out of warranty but still functions)
Hey there, Don. Sorry to hear about the concerns with your device. To clarify, has your SIM card been replaced at anytime since experiencing this? Additionally, another option would be to power down your device, remove the SIM card for at least 60 seconds, and inserting it back in to ensure it is seated properly in your SIM tray. *Kris
TCL 10 from Verizon has same issue the last couple months.
VZW Support here. We want to make sure that your device is working properly. Can you tell us the make and model you have? Have and changes been made to your device? -Bobby Johnson
I have a TCL 10 5G UW and the issue appeared about 2 months ago. Phone is factory standard and purchased from Verizon wireless.
Issue: on reboot or power up, notification appears stating Sim card is not from Verizon Wireless.
Problem with that notification is that the sim and phone came from Verizon when I upgraded.
Same problem here One Plus 8. Has anyone gotten a final solution to this? All I is possible assistance but no fix.
We want you to be able to use your device without any issues, OiD_One. Let's take a closer look into this. Verizon devices unlock 60 days after activation. Are you Verizon postpaid customer?

I still have this issue. I'm the original Reddit user that posted the thread linked earlier. I know it says user deleted but it's the only way to change your Reddit name.
That said I've been in more than one store, swapped the SIM as stated and I've gotten no where fixing this issue. It's not reassuring as this should be a simple fix. I have had no other issues with the phone. The last store wanted to sell me another phone telling me this one was defective. Not impressed.
I bought a new s22 ultra.. $1400.. and have not received one voicemail notification, and I had a few text come in on first day or two.. then nothing.. I can send texts.. but do not receive.. it's been 5-6,weeks.. and verizon hasn't helped.. I've called customer service several times... tech support. I've even tried the 2nd tier, he sent me to asurion... ?.. ( thats insurance). It's a brand new phone.. now going to samsung to try and resolve... I'm P,,,,ed.. every time I call verizon to fix , they try and up sell me... on more add on's.. are you joking?.. I should get a free month of service... I've done a the steps. Reboot, restart wipe cache. Factory reset twice.. this is obsurd
On 4/18/23 my phone received the 2/1/23 security update. This update seems to have fixed this SIM card message. It also fixed another months long problem where Verizon voice mail would not initialize. I already had a workaround for the latter - unanswered and rejected calls are forwarded to Google voice. I'll keep that.
Now, will Verizon release an updated OS for this phone (OnePlus8 5G UW)? It's still on Android 11.
Hello! My phone is an LG V60 from Verizon and I'm in Venezuela. I bought it used from eBay and that message looks normal for me since my SIM isn't one from Verizon (I might've bought all my phones used, Verizon branded since those are the most compatible phone with the networks around here which is great). It might've just been a glitch on one of OnePlus' updates since you were using a Verizon SIM. No biggie as the phone will still work like nothing has happened. If the message is "SIM not Supported", that'll be way worse since it means that the phone is SIM locked as per Verizon rules here: Device Locking FAQs (verizon.com)Also apparently, the OnePlus 8 5G UW doesn't have support for Android 12 yet, even though some OnePlus phones, including the 8, will get Oxygen OS 13. Weird, but we need to wait and see.
