Actual 4G coverage Philly Market - South Jersey customers

Anybody else have little or no 4G signal outside Philly- South Jersey area?

With LTE only mode set (Pantech modem) I was able to get signal (two bars but great speed) in only a few areas. One area in Delran, two bars @ the RT 73 Verizon store (both LTE only mode). No 4G signal driving around in

the car in Mount Laurel/ Moorestown specifically RT 38 & 295 from Moorestown Mall and up to

the Verizon store on RT 38, and driving toward 130. According to the official maps it should be strongly covered. Driving, and parking in this area locked into LTE it just keeps searching for 4G. If I turn LTE only mode off, and back to defaults I get usual Evdo Rev A and no shot of any 4G what so ever.

At this point its seems most of these areas are not "live" even though

the maps indicate they should be? Anybody else have this experience?

Unless there is something else wrong the maps

are not even close to being accurate.

I have provided some information below that may help.

Ensure the setting to obtain coverage is set to Global. This setting will automatically pick up the available coverage in the area (whether it is 4G or 3G).

Thanks but the maps are not approximate by any stretch of the word. Setting

to global will pick up 3G only(even if do end up in a 4G area) which is why I set it to LTE only.

The maps are misleading not approximate, I can give you a tons of locations

which are MILES into the "dark red" and still have 0db signal.

The towers are not fired up yet plain and simple, and these

areas should be designated as "future coverage"

I've had the Pantech LG 4g modem for 5 days now. I'm in Moorestown and I get 3-4 bars 4g service, speeds of 20mbps but throughput 5-6 condsistently. I got the service because last Monday I was day-trading S&P 500 futures and my DSL 3mbps was down 6 separate times between 9-11 am. It cozst me several hundred dollars because I had open orders that I coulod not control fastenough.

I knew I would eventually need a backup service and it seemed right to get the 4g 5 GB data plan even though it is a complete ripp-off. 5GB????? per mont????? for $50????? Are you vkidding me. I will switch the first sign of real competitive pricng plans regardless of my 2 year commitment. It is outrageous to charge an extra $10.00per Gig for anything over your 5 gig allocation. I am not naive enough to think we should get unlimited but a far more reasonable rate of $1 or even $2 would easily cover the additional Verizon infrastructure required to increase the bandwidth. Come on Verizon, lets not rape and pillage your loyal customers!

The fact is I was blown away by the performance the first time I fired up my 4g modem. I actually think the amazing throughput will give me a market advantage in my day trading and I'm willing to pay a REASONABLE price for that advantage.

Let me make sure I understand you. You live in Moorestown, NJ which is considered one of the wealthiest cities in America, and you got a 4G modem because your DSL being down cost you HUNDREDS of dollars. Assuming I have this part correct, I find it a bit hilarious that you continue your post by griping about the cost of the modem that YOU believe will provide you with in your words "a market advantage". Am I off base here? In addition, where did you get your information that a $1 or $2 would be enough compensation for any additional bandwidth you would use? I think you need to re-read your own post and then take a moment to realize how ridiculous it is.
