Switching between tuners.

New to FIOS TV 9/5/09. Past TIVO User. Need Help with VZ DVR.

Need actual steps to - Watch one channel (1) switch to another channel (2), watch that one a little, then switch back to the original channel (1) rewind it a bit, and watch what I missed while I was watching the second channel.? Essentially – swapping tuners and watching two channels and being able to rewind and fast forward between them. The Last button does not seem to do that.

The Last button sometimes doesn't work if you type in a 4 digit number. Instead of typing 0007, type in 7 and hit OK.

I have had fios for a week now, have not tried it yet, I know on my previous comcast dvr, I would pause a channel , flip to the other tuner, watch until a commerical cam on, then pause, flip back, resume play, skip 30 seconds several times past commercials, then repeat.

While you can switch tuners, the act of doing so causes the paused one to return to live (even though it still holds up to a one hour buffer) with IMG V1.5 - basically worthless for sporting events where you don't want to return to live viewing. There are rumors that the upgrade to IMG V1.6 would allow the tuner to stay paused, but my area (SE PA) hasn't been hit with that upgrade yet so I can't verify.

unfortunately IMG1.6 did not fix this 😞 at least not in PDX area

I'm in NY and got the upgrade to 1.6 today. I briefly tried the pausing of both tuners and it worked. I haven't tried it for any length of time, but it is supposed to work.

My apologies for being dense, but is the answer to how to swap between the 2 tuners is: use the LAST button?

Example, I want to watch football games on both ESPN and CBS. Do I go to ESPN, then go to CBS, then hit LAST to toggle between the 2?

It appears from the posts below that you are able to pause each tuner as you toggle back and forth to watch the 2 games without having either tuner skip ahead to Live TV. If anyone can confirm that, I'd be most appreciative.

Yes, use the "Last" button to toggle between the 2 tuners.

If I pause either tuner and then go back using the "last" button it will return me to where I had paused it.

I have IMG 1.6.0 and I'm in the Philly area.
