hey All-
As of mid-February we've been experiencing some annoying issues with our wireless service via the MI414WR Rev D router. From what I can gather, it doesn't look like the signal gets dropped as I've never seen a 'disconnected' message on any of my devices (mixture of windows 7 and Apple devices). However our bandwidth or internet connection will sporadically come to a grinding halt.
I've contacted Fios support and performed the walk-thru and diagnosis and they've always come up empty. Restarting the router definitely helps, but we're restarting it about 5-6 times per day.
I've since put my troubleshooting into overdrive and have removed devices off the network, thinking that perhaps something was bogging the network down, but even with everything off and just our iPhones connected, we'd still loose bandwidth. I then removed WEP, switched to WPA, then to nothing, and still the same issue. I've tried updating the firmware of the router, but every time I try to check for updates, it times out on me.
Therefore I've narrowed it down to this MI414WR Rev D router and was hoping that someone here had experienced similar issues and would like some tips on what to do next.
ANY help, guidance, or tips would be GREATLY appreciated. We have young children who depend on our Apple TV's Netflix for their Thomas the Engine fix, and having to restart the router before and during the show gets annoying fast.
Thanks!!
Forgot to mention that I'm in Tarrytown, New York.
