Setting FIOS Video Format on STB

Lately my HD video format keeps reseting back to 720p when I turn off my TV/STB. So I set it back to 1080i and again it goes back when I put it back on later. What could be a possible reason for it not saving? I've had FIOS for years now and I recently started putting it through an AV Reciever. I dont know if this is a coincidence or what because I cant imagine why putting my HDMI through an AVR would effect my video settings.

The HDMI handshake is applying whatever the max setting of your TV is and applying it whenever you turn on your STB. This probably started happening when your IMG was upgraded to 1.7,

I dont know if this matters but my "Sys Info shows: Release: 1.6.2 and Build Number 08.58"

Hmm, looks like you still have 1.7.

Is your TV a 720p or 1080i/p?

Its 1080p (Samsung LED 8000). I bypassed my AV reciever last night and I just turned my tv on and the STB is still set at 1080i. I guess I'll put the AV reciever back in the mix and see if it starts going to 720p again.

it's definetly related to the audio receiver, the audio receiver isn't handshaking to 1080i because it can't. there is an audio setting in the receiver (you'll probably have to pull out the manual or call the audio receiver company) and set it so that it passes through the hdmi handshake straight to the tv versus the audio reciever controlling the handshake.

that's the best solution. the work around is for you to turn your system on in a different order.

STB then the TV and then audio receiver would also fix it.

the next release of software to fix something like that won't come for at least 1 quarter if not two, so you would be waiting 3 - 6 months for a fix from verizon.
