Please Help-Multiroom DVR error msg

Hi,

I get the following error message from my SD2500 when accessing the recorded programs from my multi room HD DVR (6416).

My susbscription package includes $19.99/month for it.

"Multi-Room DVR encountered a problem while accessign the data from the DVR box. Make sure the DVR is plugged-in to the power outlet and that you have at least one recording available.If the problem persists, please unplug the power for the DVR box and plug it back in and try again."

Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

It sounds like the DVR is not setup on Verizon's end as Multi-room. Call 888-553-1555 and have them check it for you.

No guarantee that this will help you figure it out, but when I first had FIOS installed, I had all sorts of problems downloding IPGs, and using the Media Manager and accessing the Multi-Room DVR from remote STBs (your symptom). These all stemmed from poor connectivity of the home network. All of the STBs have to use your router to communicate to one another via the coax cables in your house. This communication is carried at a higher frequency than all of the actual TV channels, somewhere around 1GHz. Many older or poorer quality coax cables, connectors, splitters, etc cannot pass this 1GHz signal well (while your actual TV stations come in just fine). In particular, all splitters and connectors must be specifically rated to 1GHz. Many are only up to 600 or 900MHz. So I'd look first at all of your splitters for their rating and all of your connectors to ensure they are well-made and in good condition. I ultimately had to replace one run of coax that simply would not cooperate.
