has qnyone had problems installing the in home agent software/program? when I tried to install on this desktop and a notebook both computers acted differently. it was like the software had a virus in it. any suggestions?
Hey Mbm, it sounds like we might be updating the In Home Agent software but did you try deleting the temp files and cookies on your web browser then try downloading the IHA again.
ok will try that. my desktop computer is 64 bit windows 7. does that have anything to do with the problem? my notebook is windows vista but 32 bit. that one acted funnier that the desk stop.
I am having a similar issue. When I try to launch Verizon IHA it tells me that there is an update. Then the update fails to install and gives me a message that I need to uninstall IHA first. When I try to uninstall IHA, I get this error message:
Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be rn. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action: iHAInstallReport. Location: <a path>. Command: Uninstallreport.

I am also running Windows 7, 64-bit.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,

I have tried using IHA on windows vista and now on 7 and found this program impossible to use.. I find this software to be pure garbage..
Running 32 bit W7 on an HP laptop and get a 1721 error message when trying to install VZ IHA. Then it proceeds but halts telling me to uninstall the previous version of IHA which doesn't appear in my Control Panel program listings.
Go figure. Seems many users are experiencing the 1721 but Verizon hasn't noticed, believe it is the user's SW problem or doesn't have a fix.
Guess I'll just ignore it and hope a repaired or more forgiving version will install in some distant year.
BTW, if you want to have a frustrating experience, try on-line chat help. You wait minutes for a response and they merely ask another basic or tangental question. It's not a pretty dance.
