is the client id the same as WEP on the itouch setup screen?
The Client ID isn't needed in most cases, unless you're connecting to a network that doesn't broadcast it's name and/or you're setting up Static IP addresses. For the most part, it can be left blank and the iPod should be able to work without issues.

To setup an Itouch connection, select settings, then WI-FI then choose a network from the visible ones and when prompted enter the key. If there are no visible networks select other and enter the privately supplied ssid in name and key in the security field.
Ah, found the client id field. According the Apple documentation it would only be used in ultra security conscious networks. So no it's not the same as the wep key
