Problem has been ongoing since last Friday night. Actually the problem I had hoped to be fixed has been happening since January, but in an attempt to get it fixed the problem has gooten worse. Original problem: Since a heavy (for this area) snow early in january every time we have the slightest amount of rain we lose our dial tone and it does not return until the rain has ended and we have at least 3 hours of sun presumably to dry out the wiring somewhere. I know how to check the NIB and bought a new slim line just for this purpose. No dial tone at the NIB. I got tired of this as well as a little fearfull because I have senior citizens in the house and in this economy we have no cell phones. I logged a call and monday tech shows up. Tech checks and agrees there is a problem (dial tone is back at this time cuz lines are dry again but he hears the static. Starts moving up the branch and finds a problem at a B Box or something like that. He calls the office and gets the ok to switch to a new bunch of wires. He tries to call a second number to find which bunch of wires to use because I have DSL. He lets phone ring at office for 30 mins and gets no answer. He is told by office to go to next job and let cabling division handle it. This means next day sometime but phone and dsl are working so I can wait. After 4 pm no dial tone, No dsl ,No nothing. Get in car and drive to pay phone. Wasn,t real happy with the call logger and wont go into that for now but I'm told by him that I will receive a 25.00 credit and they will be at my house first thing in morning. I have a class at home so leave 75 year old mother to work with a tech. Almost 11;00 am mother gets call that all is fixed the problem was a connection left undone yesterday. Funny my tech left for next call at 1.00 pm and I had a working phone until after 4 pm?!?!?! Well same thing it all works until after 4 pm today and then no dial tone, no dsl - Back to pay phone and call dispatch again. This person says line checks out must be a short in the house. Assured her I tried the NIB again and no dial tone and caught her up on the happenings so far. I asked since we are now going on 5 days without reliable srvice can I have another credit. She says no people who log trouble calls can not issue credits. I asked how come the gentleman I spoke with yesterday could and claimed he did? She said I dont know. I said since this is the 5 th day of unrliable service can I expect someone at my house first thing in the morning. She said no people who log problems can not do that it would be between 8 and 5. I again advised her that this was supposedly done for me the previous day. She said she didnt know how that could be. Which one is blowing the smoke up my .... This time I dont know I cant say. I get home for this and I have still have no dial tone but for the first time ever my dsl is up and running without the phone working. Also when the phone was working earlier I called my verizon voice mail and found an automated message from verizon stating that my appointment had been changed to somewhere between 8 and 5 tuesday. The time stamp was 10:30 am and the next message was that the problem had been fixed at 10:58 am. I am not happy at all and as soon as I am gainfully employed again I will be going completely cellular.
