DVR (7232) needs to be always on (to use TV Central)?

A new issue cropped up when I upgraded to the 7232 DVR -- The TV Central website doesn't show correct listings for what I've scheduled to record? I wonder if that's because the "power off" button now seems to actually put the new box into some sort of standby state versus, with the old box it actually stayed on (& thus was visible on the Internet)? Or something?

Does anyone know whether the DVR needs to be "always on" for it to be programmed from off-site (away from home)?

The button does the same as the old box and the DVR does not need to be on.

As the previous poster indicated, the new box works the same as the older boxes. How much time has elapsed since the new DVR was installed and you checked the tv central website.

I have a 7232 and within a few days of the installation it was synced properly.

It's been about 2 weeks. Took about 5 days before the old box was off my account. Just did a test -- tried accessing the online system before turning on the box -- still not displaying recording schedule properly. Turned on the box & "refreshed" the online list & voila -- everything showed propoerly. Don't know what's going on?!

Actually turning the DVR off does very very little.

It changes the video output to the screen saver, disables the DVR remote control functions except on/off, and may change the font panel display from channel to time. It has no measurable impact on power consumption. The HDD is kept running at all times, and in fact two tuners are in operation, and the last hour is recorded on both channels even if the power is off.

My new one took 2 weeks to show up on the remote list. The old one still appears there too.

Interesting information and an argument to keep the box always on (so long as I continue to have issues with website scheduling). I'm curious where this info comes from and what "the last hour is recorded on both channels" means?! I understand that recording (up to 2 channels) goes on even if the box is "powered off" -- is that what you mean?

Maybe the issue is: one has to be on one's home network to communicate with the DVR? It's just that it seemed to me that previously I could be connected while away from home & could edit the recording schedule.
