Unable to receive email via verizon.net. Also unable to receive Video on Demand. Are these problems related? Could Verizon be having a major service interruption?
The real question here is, are you able to use your Internet connection away from E-mail and Video on Demand? They tend to be two separate problems unless for whatever reason, e-mail and VOD route along the same path and a path is down. Granted, if that were the case I would think you would have noticed other sites being down.
Verizon's e-mail (POP/SMTP Access) has been having on and off issues for the past few weeks from what I've noticed. If Video on Demand isn't working, try giving your Set Top Box a reboot. It might have lost the IP address it had from the router at some point and never renewed it.
