Residential Calling Cards No Longer Offered

My Verizon Calling Card stop working right after July 4th 2010. When I called customer service(because Verizon online help e-mail told me to buy another one !!!) I was told Calling Cards (the one you use to have call billed to your home phone - NOT the pre-paid cards) are no longer offered. is this TRUE????

I do remember seeing a notice about that but was looking for the link. Have not been able to find it. But yes the cards no longer work. I believe it was a notice in my paper bill. I can not find the information anywhere.
