Removing channels from guide?

A while back I removed some channels from the channel guide and with all of the new upgrades, those channels are back in the guide. I can't seem to find a way to remove them again. I do not want a parental block. I just don't want to see them in the guide.

Is there a way to do that with the new system or am I going to be stuck with my father in law playing couch commando this weekend with those channels while he visits?

I created a new favorites list (with the new IMG 1.6 you can have two) and then set the program guide to display that list. While in the program guide if you use the favorites button, it will cycle through the various favorites list. While displaying the favorites list from which you have deleted the channels you don't want to show, they will not display in the guide. And the program guide remembers which favorites list you last used.
