The only internet service I am able to obtain from Verizon is the FIOS service. They will not provide DSL service. Verizon does not allow third party internet service providers access to their lines for DSL service. I am forced to purchase the FIOS service. This is a great service I am told but I thought that a monopoly for this type of service was not allowed by government regulations. The internet service is expensive alone, but if bundled with telephone and TV it is more attractive financially. A good marketing tool to get customers to purchase the entire package but this does not allow competition in the marketplace.
Is this a good business practice and is this "legal".
