Depends on if you have the TWO button version or the FOUR button Universal
If the TV is in a different room than your computer, than instead of writing this stuff down, you can use the menu in the Set top box.
You hit Menu > customer support > program remote
and all these steps are in your cable box too.
Remote controls have different remote codes that work specifically for that make and model. Make sure you are using the codes designed to work with your remote control.
