Finding HD Channels

Maybe it just me and maybe I'll get use to the Fios channel lineup, but I am having difficulty finding programming I wish to watch. The menu search feature is a good idea, but does not work well for me.

I did notice that, perhaps, there is some logic built in. For example: When I finally figured out that the MLB Playoff games were being broadcast on TBS (channel 52 - which I had to go on line to the TV Guide site to discover), I also saw that the HD version was on 552. Is that consistent? If I find a show, lets say CNN on 100, and add 500 to that (600) I will have the HD equilivant?

That is a good rule of thumb, but certainly not a constant

I would love to be able to get a channel listing of the channels I actually receive (without the so-called "local programming" channels).

Do you mean a printed list or viewing the channels on the Guide on the TV?

On the TV: Set up one or two Favorites lists to contain only the channels you want. See the link below for help in setting up Favorites if you have not already done so.

On the Web (assuming you have the Remote DVR function activated): Go to FiOS TV Central (Link) and choose the Fav 1 or Fav 2 button at the top (requires that you set up your Favorites first), you will then see only the channels you want. You could print this page or save it for future reference.

Here is a link to the Exploiting FiOS TV Favorites thread I created which describes in detail how to set up one or two Favorites lists: Link. Not described in this thread is that you can also set up your Favorites on the FiOS TV Central site itself; some people think this is easier than doing it directly on the DVR.
