Problems with TortoiseHG, most likely related to Verizon FIOS.

I recently switched to Verizon FIOS after getting too mad at Comcast for their constant disconnecting problems. After the switch, I have been unable to push anything over 500 KB with TortoiseHG for work. It gives me an error telling me the software has disconnected. I looked up my error online and it said most likely there is some sort of firewall preventing it, does Verizon FIOS contain or come with any sort of firewall? Is there a way to disable it? Should I call and have someone from Verizon come and check out my problem?

More likely explanation ... you have an anti-virus product or a misconfigured software VPN client which is interferring with the transfer of data to wherever your repository is located. FiOS is no different than any other broadband provider in that they employ a NAT router in the form of the ActionTEC router which blocks no outbound traffic.
