Cannot get Internet signal or connectivity

Hello,

My wireless router comes on, allows me to login, but has no Internet signal. The normal lights come on in the front, EXCEPT fort the Internet light. I am using the Actiontec MI424.

During a chat with the customer service representative, we tried resetting, rebooting, and unplugging the router, as well as the white installation box (battery and outlet). Nothing has changed.

Does anyone know of an Internet service interruption in the Philadelphia area? Or has anyone had a similar problem and can make suggestions?

Sounds like you router died. Not surprising as the Verizon supplied router are cheap, thats why they are supplied for free!. Did the Tech offer to send you a new router? Alternatively, if you have a Fios store in your area, you can take the old router in and exchange it for a new one.

Can you get internet when connected by cat5 wire?

Nope, no internet at all. Even the set-top box can't access certain features.

Our chat got cut off, which is why I came here. But yeah, I was hoping the answer wasn't a dead router. Oh well, guess I'll have to trade it in. Thanks for your help!
