NOT RESPONDING

Why and how do get this internet system to work without going to "NOT RESPONDING" all the time???? It just took me over 30 minutes to restart Verizon security suite. The system went to "not responding" 4 times for more than 3 minutes each. Plus the when I start my machine, I get this stupid ad for Explorer 8. It's already installed, has been for over 4 months. All I want to do is sign in and start doing what I have to do, not al the rest of this junk. That's why I left Cablevision. Plus this whole set-up is tons slower than Cablevision. This must be part of the "pay more, get less" business.

Any help would be a blessing, I'm almost ready to back to snail cable.

Loaded Google Chrome last nite. If I don't use FireFox, it works fine. Chrome just doesn't have favorites for quick loading, but I can work around it.

Did this just start happening?

Are you using fios or have just upgraded to fios from some other VZ offering? - see your last post was 4/2010 but doesn't say whether that was fios or not.

Did you just load some new software? such as the VSS?

No this did not just start. It's been going on for a few months. I'm just getting tired of all the problems.

I've had fios for almost 2 years.

No new software added, except upgrading Verizon Security Suite.

download google chrome, and I am sure it will respond better. www.google.com/chrome
