Cannot connect to Internet after IE8 Auto Upddates

Every IE8 Download result is the same; Can never reconnect to Internet after the download. Tried both Verizon FIOS with MSN Premium and Internet Explorer. Must remove IE8 to regain Internet Connection. Then I receive Your Browser is

Outdated Windows . Getting very tired. I have contacted Verizon Fios Support Live Agent 3x! Always the same....takes about an hour, and they never repair even when I let them Show Me through XP......why......why.....why???

Sounds like browser issue if it lets you connect using other browser version. I would just use one of the other browsers out there like firefox or chrome.

How are you updating Internet Explorer? Through Windows Update or through a manual installation file from the Microsoft website? Do you have your system up to date with any other patches, including Service Packs? Do you receive any errors while installing IE?

I do suggest Firefox, Opera or Google Chrome as an alternate browser though. Better browsers than IE8 is.

Check to make sure the IE8 didnt accidently set up a proxy. When IE8 first came out thats what it did to me.

In IE, click on "tools", go to "internet options". Click on the "Connections" tab. Click on the "Lan Settings" button. And make sure that Proxy is not checked. If it is, uncheck it. Then close IE and start it up again.

For the record, if you browser is broken, that's not Verizon's fault. Get mad at Microsoft if you must be mad at someone. I don't get mad at the gas company when my car won't start...
