Router disconnects

I have MI424WR FIOS router that keeps dropping connections. 10 - 15 times / day. I've reinstalled firmware and rebooted it, but I still have the issue. I can tell it is the router because it resets "Active" time is reset when I log into look at it.

I have 3 PCs on the network (wired), 1 printer (wireless), & use a Microsoft based VPN to connect to my office.

any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

I moved all of my internal network traffic to a separate router and did a LAN - LAN connection to the Actiontec router. This improved things somewhat, but I still received drops. Verizon shipped me a new router and I'm using it as an internet gateway and DHCP server only. Still using the LAN-LAN connection. All is well now. I'm not sure if I just had a faulty Actiontec router and if the 2nd router is still necessary, but I'm leaving well enough alone for now.

What is the exact version of that router?

I noticed last night, that I can sometimes make it happen when I attempt to access one of my other computers. Either to access a shared drive or to use remote desktop.
