7232-2 DVR Fan Noise

I just got and activated a new 7232-2 DVR. The noise coming out of the unit is incredible. The fan is very, very loud - is this typical for this model? Doesn't it have a variable speed fan that should slow down when the unit is not warm? Some setting I could change?

No it is not normal, and no, there is no setting. I have had my 7232 for about a year now, so quiet I cannot hear it even with my ear right down near the box. I think you need to contact Verizon and get a replacement box.
