Series DVR - Network show delay

I live on the east coast and have been unable to see full recored episodes of 60 Minutes because the 4:15 football game runs long. Last evening, 11-Dec, less than 15 minutes of my scheduled DVR series of 60 Minutes (7pm-8pm) was viewable. Hopefully Verizon can identify when network sports coverage runs long and will automatically start the recording of the series when it actually comes on. The same goes for other networks like FOX and NBC.

There is no way for them or anyone to find out when a show will run overtime. If you know it usually starts late, then you have to set the DVR to end the recording later. There are options for that when scheduling a recording.
