HD Channels suddenly squished to 4:3

I've had FiOS since 2008, had my LG HD TV since 2007. I have never had any problems until just a few days ago. Every single HD channel (okay, I haven't tried them all, but surfed through about 20 or so) is now showing the HD signal "squished" to a 4:3 format (black bars left and right). It's not cut-off, it's squished. Nothing's changed on the TV, nothing's changed on the FiOS STB (I've checked settings on both, even tried some different settings).

Has anyone seen this before or heard of this happening. Maybe Verison sent down a software update that's not compatible with my older STB? I don't know. Thought I would check here first, and if no luck, guess I'll take a day off from work and call Verizon.

Called Verizon. They sent a command to reload all channels, and it's better. I asked and they said it was probably that the latest software update caused the problem, just as I suspected.

if an odd problem like that happens again, use the repair site to reload the boxes.

www.verizon.com/repair there is a quick fix for set top box there, or you can run it from the menu.

PRess menu on your fios remote, go to customer support towards the bottom, then select in home agent and select set top box auto correct or reboot.
